Positive test.: My 8. Year old great... - Lung Conditions C...
Positive test.
Sorry to hear about your great granddaughter. Hope she’s making a good recovery. It can happen that some dead virus lingers in the body so gives a false positive. Hopefully she’ll test negative soon.
Communicate with a doctor if at all concerned.
Take care xxxx
As Sassy has said you can still be shedding dead cells that contain remnants of RNA from the virus for weeks afterwards. My partner works as a senior carer in a nursing home, with a permanent staff of nurses and where all the staff get tested each week, the rule is to self isolate for 10 days after a positive test from the day the test is taken before returning to work. Then there has to be a 6 week wait before testing resumes again. The test cannot distinguish between the live virus from dead cells that may contain inactive viral artifacts.
I hope your great granddaughter tests negative soon, my granddaughter has just gone back to school after someone in her bubble tested positive. Try to have a good day and take care 😊 Bernadette and Jack 🐕 xxxx
Thank you all for your comments . It has lifted a huge worry off our shoulders . Her Mum contracted covid from her , which has made her very ill . A CT scan has revealed left side of her heart has dilated .awaiting an echo appt .
I’m sorry to know about your great granddaughter and her mum. Sending lots of good wishes to you all.

So sorry to hear this and sincerely hope they make a full recovery. P x
My son (aged 8) was sent home from school last monday for a fortnight as a pupil in his class has tested positive. Seems alot scarier when its on your doorstop! My sister has just tested positive also. Although she has been home working since April and has been pretty carrful keeping her 2 metre distance from people. She also has a son aged 8 but thankfully he tested negative. So hes away to his dads for 2 weeks. My sister has adult onset asthma and was hospitalised several times last year until put on the correct inhalers. Funny she never had asthma growing up and even ran a marathon the year before diagnosed with adult asthma! So far she had a sore throat , for 1 day last week and (touch wood) no other symptoms at all.
