Lateral flow test positive

soulboy118 profile image

After the last few days of feeling not so good I submitted to advice and tested for covid ,to my shock it was positive( lateral flow test ).I have had both inoculations against covid (Pfizer) and apart from a few symptoms (ill list here)

im actually feeling ok.

These symptoms are a greater than usual phlegm production ,sore gums ,a cold sore ( which I never get) and a feeling like I've been punched hard in my left lung ,I am not vomiting , have a sense of taste and smell, no chills, no high temperature and no fatigue ( well apart from the usual copd fatigue)

I have a test booked at Haydock Park race track ( about 2 miles from me ) in the morning .

The rest of my family are all negative for which I'm 🙏 .

Have a good evening everyone and as always breath easier.

Oh no, sorry to hear this soulboy. Trust you have had both 2 doses of the vaccine?

I hope your symptoms will be short live and you will be feeling better soon.

Take good care of yourself.

Hiya, that's not so great. But I hope you will get rid of it soon again. Have some good rest and take it easy that you soon will be better again that you can get back to family again. Best wishes with healing power!! 🍀🍀🍀🍀

Thank goodness for the vaccine as it could have been a lot worse. I hope you feel better very soon. Take it easy won't you. x

The journalist, Andrew Marr had covid19 after both doses of vaccine but said it was like a bad summer cold. From what I have read it is unlucky to get the infection but most people are not too unwell because of vaccine protection. Hoping you are fine and all is ok for yourself and your family. Very best wishes.

The symptoms for the delta variant differ from the original symptoms and are more insidious to the point we're it is more like a summer cold especially in those who have had the vaccine. I hope you feel better soon.

That must have been a shock. Hope your symptoms stay mild and short-lived.

Well thats the sort of news you dont want to have.

Fingers crossed that your symptoms remain mostly troublefree and you soon recover.

Also a lesson to us in the dodgy lung club.

Get well soon xxx

Sorry to hear you tested positive Soulboy118. Do take care of yourself it may be one of these new variants,They did say the vaccine does not stop you getting the virus but makes the symptoms less severe. Do hope you don't get longcovid as they call it, especially since you have an exisyting lung condition. Stay home, isolate and hopefully it will soon be better, however if you start to feel less well call 111. Best wishes for the vaccine to protect you from severe illness.

Its frightening for all the family, having lost a member of family to covid I understand thier feelings and yours the hospital wards are risky too if you have lung problems so hope you can isolate at home soon stay safex

Oh dear me Dave! How awful but as others have said, the fact you’ve had both Pfizer jabs means your symptoms won’t be as bad. 🤞🏼Please let us know how things go with your test at Haydock Park.

Thinking of you and feel better soon. Xxx👍🥰🤗

Hopefully you will only have a mild bout of Covid if it is confirmed. My son in law has Covid at the moment despite both Pfizer vaccines well over 2 weeks ago. However, his only symptoms are tiredness ,some aches & a cough.

This Delta variant is much more transmissible but protects against severe illness.

Really hope you feel better soon!

Yes a shock soulboy, but luckily your symptoms are mild. I dont know if thats due to the vaccine or your system. I think the vaccine protects us to a certain degree but also think our immune system plays a big part and yours is working well by the sounds of things, just my opinion. Lets hope this passes quickly and you feel better soon x
