Young children can spread coronavirus to adults, new CDC report says.

Children and babies as young as eight months old have been shown to transmit Covid-19 to adults after outbreaks at three childcare centres, according to the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention.

The findings come as schools and daycare facilities across the country increasingly reopen to in-person contact, with the CDC continuing its research for guidance on controlling the spread of coronavirus.

The new report, released late on Friday, studied coronavirus outbreaks at three childcare facilities, attended by 83 kids, in Salt Lake City, Utah from 1 April to 10 July.

Twelve children under the age of 10, who likely contracted the virus at daycare, were found to have infected some of their parents or siblings after returning home, even if they showed no signs or symptoms.

Is it safe for children to return to school? For the children, probably yes.

Is it safe for parents and grandparents for children to return to school? It seems probably not.

Yes, this is not news to me, probably been known for years that children are the most dangerous of all spreaders of all viruses - I think on another post was send them all to boarding school and quarantine all schools and teachers indefinitely :D Will it happen probably not. Is it right to stop the kids attending school, my view only, probably not a good idea.

Its gonna be what its gonna be, even without the kids spreading the virus, there are supposedly 'responsible adults' spreading it around too.

USA have bigger problems than UK not just with the virus.

Stay well and safe.

There are already reports circulating of the imminent return of a 3 months of shielding, advice. Another concern, is that the virus circulation within care homes is increasing as well.

I have read the same reports, as have probably many following covid news. More worrying times ahead.

One of the few times I am glad not to have children or grandchildren but more worry for those who have.

What surprises me is that they need research to state the obvious. I cannot understand how anyone thought that children were less infective. If you have an infection spread by droplets then I can think of no reason why you cannot spread it whatever your age.
