If anyone is still trying to get off the delivery list & failed. Our council put the info about re registering on gov site OR refuse the next parcel. I put a note on my door & it worked. No parcel left. Chris

Free food parcel
I'll have to try that. When I unregistered on the government site I stopped getting priority slots with Sainsburys. It might have been a coincidence but, as I live alone without anyone to get shopping for me I registered again and now get the slots again.
There still seems to be confusion about this. In one of my recent boxes was a note telling me to de register if I now have a way of getting regular food supplies which one could take to mean supermarket deliveries. I have been acknowledged as vulnerable by my local Sainsburys store but not been given priority slots. Your problem perhaps makes us reluctant to cancel the food parcel even if we no longer need it.
I tried telling the delivery guy, as per the letter that comes with the food which states that if you no longer want the food, let the person delivering it know. However, he refused to take it and suggested I distribute it to my neighbours on my street. Obviously how can I when I'm meant to be shielding!?
Nevertheless, I'm going to try your method by leaving a sign on the door. Thank you for sharing this suggestion . 😊
With every delivery comes an information page A4 size clearly with instructions to revisit the gov.uk/coronavirus-extremel... site and RE REGISTER selecting YES in answer to the following question:
"Do you have a way of getting essential supplies delivered at the moment?"
but it does also say you can refuse the next parcel by letting the delivery driver know and it will be delivered to another clinically vulnerable person in need.
I have never had one of those in any of my food boxes but I do get a printed sheet listing the ingredients of a list of groceries that are not in the box ??? xx
