Pleurisy

Hi I had pleurisy approximately 3 years ago but I can’t remember the antibiotics I was on. Last week I got chest pains, shortness of breath, my ribs hurt to touch and I’m sweating more than usual. I work nights as a security guard so I have to search them within a few feet regardless of social distancing and I’m concerned if someone I’m searching as the corona virus I may be at greater risk. I live with my 63 year old mother so I’m worried about passing anything to her. I can’t get a doctors appointment and don’t know what I should do, any advice?

Hi Marc. If you have chest pain & shortness of breath you need to see a doctor. It could be anything. If the pain is bad you must go to A&E. At the very least phone your surgery in the morning & tell them it’s urgent. I feel sure if you explain your symptoms they’ll fit you in.

Ok thanks I will try but getting into docs is like mission impossible

You could also check with 111 online and describe your symptoms. As Hanne says ring your GP and explain. Stay calm and I’m sure you’ll be fine. Xxxx
