I was diagnosed with pleurisy in February this year. Since then, I have not felt well. I have been generally tired and the cough has lingered. Last week I felt worse with shivers, sweats, headache, nausea and yesterday got vertigo. It seems never ending.
Has anyone else developed vertigo and other symptoms or are they possibly unrelated? I am going to try to get to speak to the doctor tomorrow as I am worried that the pleurisy will recur.

The shivers, sweats, headache and nausea you describe are very symptomatic of an infection somewhere and similarly, vertigo can result from an infection. Whether this is a recurrence of the pleurisy or a different infection needs to be diagnosed and treated by your doctor. I do hope that you find out tomorrow so that you can have the right treatment.
I’ve had pleurisy several times many years ago, but first antibiotics worked well. Think you now need doctor care and antibiotics urgently. Best wishes Jean x
Hi pleurisy is horrible I had it a few years ago with pneumonia and took me 6mths to fully recover from both ,luckily it didn't return. Give your self time and I wish you well soon
Hope your doctor will prescribe some antibiotics for your infection to help you feel better. On a curious note, I've recently had three different antibiotics in turn for an infection in my left index finger, and had trouble balancing. It turned out one of my ears was completely blocked with wax - I had both ears cleared of wax with micro-suction and that problem went. I had never had my ears cleared before, and it was a coincidence that it happened while I was taking penicillin.
What was done about your having pleurisy? Did you have a CT scan? Were you put on antibiotics? Did you have pneumonia as well? Did you have fluid on your lungs? Have you any pain in your ribs? In November 2019 I had pneumonia and pleurisy and spent 10 days in hospital with about no. 7 pain at the base of my rib cage, loads of antibiotics (which gave me oral thrush), and kept taking for at least a fortnight after leaving hospital, had 750ml of yellow infected fluid drawn from my chest cavity, and I'm not sure whether that experience has caused my heart failure which I now have. Must be taken seriously.
Thank you every for your replies. All very helpful. Got speaking to the doctor today so getting strong antibiotics. Hopefully they will get me back on my feet.
Hi, I got pleurisy about three years ago. I was given amoxiclav and it seemed to work, then I started feeling rough again, and was given Oxytet and that got rid of the infection. Reading your post you have all the symptoms of an infection that needs antibiotics. You will not feel well until you get the infection sorted,
