Yet another interesting article. As my father died of lung cancer I often wonder if I have a weakness in some way that caused my bronchiectasis. Both my Mother and Father were heavy smokers and my grandfather, who lived with us, puffed on a pipe throughout the day. As a child, I remember having regular chest infections preventing me from going to school. With hindsight I know this was an unhealthy environment to live in but wonder if these conditions have affected my current health situation.
I would not hesitate to say very it was likely to have had an effect or even the cause of your current health situation although you must not lay any blame, they were not to know in those days.
