Using data from a large federal government telephone survey of adults, Johns Hopkins Medicine researchers report evidence that inhaling heated tobacco vapor through e-cigarettes was linked to increased odds of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), conditions long demonstrated to be caused by smoking traditional, combustible cigarettes. The data, the researchers say, also suggest that odds of developing COPD may be as much as six times greater when people report they both vape and smoke tobacco regularly, compared with those who don’t use any tobacco products at all

Recently a friends 23yr old son (in the USA) was rushed to hospital with pneumonia type symptoms. After treatment failed and his case looked into further he was airlifted to a specialist hospital. After being admitted to intensive care he continued to decline to the extent putting him on life support may have been the only option. However his oxygen levels finally responded avoiding this. This was all caused by vaping. The hospital had a ward full of young people with the same symptoms. All vapers. Two weeks after finally being discharged the young lad was coughing up blood. Admitted back to hospital with a collapsed lung and having to undergo emergency surgery. He is now luckily recovering but the authorities do not know what his long term lung condition will be. They are still awaiting certain results.

It is a proven fact that the evali illness from vaping was from vaping illegal THC tainted with Vit E acetate. Zero nicotine vapes were found to be tainted and nicotine vaping is NOT associated with evali illness and death.

The scary part is that we all know smoking damages the lungs but it generally takes years and even decades sometimes and yet problems from vaping appear to be happening pretty quickly. It is scary to think what the long term consequences of vaping will be. Is it going to turn out to be much worse than cigarettes in a much reduced time frame? I would like to know how much research was done into the effects of vaping before it was given approval for sale.
