Well went to dr for blood test results, was going to ask about a maintenance dose of pred, but it seems I am now type 2 diabetic!! And the reason I have been feeling so awful was because of it😞😞more pills to take! Hope they kick in quickly I’m heartily sick of feeling this bad! Any tips anyone? Keep well everyone x

Im so sorry.

Im worried that might happen to me. Diabetics I dont need. I have higher than normal blood pressure and cant lose weight, dont know why.

I have sever COPD and sever ASTHMA, isnt that enough !

Are you taking pred at the moment anyway? I get steroid induced diabetes...my blood sugars go crazy!! But when I’m off them, they go back to normal....

At least until this past time!! But I have some random autoimmune disease which has attacked my pancreas and kidneys.

Hope you start to feel better soon!!

I'm on Tictacs right now, They normally kick in fast, not on this occasion, I'm on my 5th day of X 6, though the "Eat everything" has kicked in. Best of luck Hun. xxx

Yes, type two can usually be controlled by diet, cut sugar out and if you eat a lot of simple carbohydrates cut those too, replace with complex, high fibre carbs. I and several others I know do this too and no longer have to take the metformin - as well as losing weight ! P

That happened to me as well, 6 weeks ago. It seems to be righting itself while my meter readings can be all over the place. However, my averages are sliding down to normal. I hadn't heard of steroid-induced diabetes until I was diagnosed. Hopefully yours will as well. That Prednisone is something else! Be well and enjoy the holiday season.

As others have mentioned steroids caused my blood sugars to get pretty high but after finishing the steroids it is back to where it was before.
