Pneumonia recovery - anyone else experience pressure on forehead?

Hi there, I went into hospital a month ago and was diagnosed with viral pneumonia. Thankfully most symptoms have cleared up except occasional tiredness. When I experience the tiredness, I also get a pressurised feeling on my forehead. It's not a pain - my best way of describing it is that it feels like my head is in a vice and I also feel sensitive to light. I wondered if anyone else has experience with this after pneumonia and, I'd so, how long you continued to experience this for? One of my main symptoms when hospitalised was a headache and light sensitivity. Many thanks.

Hi, the pneumonia I suffered from was bacterial not viral, but I recommend that you contact your health professional today and explain your symptoms of pressure and light sensitivity.

I would ring this morning.

Best Wishes, hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for your reply. I got it checked out by the GP but they couldn't find anything unusual. It just seems to hit occasionally when I'm tired. Thanks a lot for your concern!

I have experienced the very same sensations you describe after having pneumonia last year. The tiredness just sneaks up on you without warning and at times I felt I could fall asleep suddenly even when standing up !! It has not happened to me in a while.I have just put it down to the recovery from the virus and the light sensitivity as being usual with a headache.I cannot recall having that when I was in hospital but I was so breathless due to the very poor state of my lungs, I did not know what planet I was even on !!

My 'episodes' have lessened with time but If you are concerned it's always best to seek medical advise. [which ,perhaps I should have done]

Do tell us how you get on xx

Thanks for sharing your experience. Yes it's a really odd sensation and I thought it had stopped but then it came back again today. I will keep monitoring. Appreciate your concern and hope you've fully recovered now!

That describes my migraine. Might be nothing to do with pneumonia?

Tiredness after major illness is common isnt it? Truck on....

Yes, and my migraines, now that they have got a bit less intense with age.

Thanks both. I've never suffered from migraines before but the day I got admitted to hospital I did wonder if that's what I had. Thanks for the good wishes, hopefully the feeling will subside soon!
