This is a photo of my eldest daughter( I have four daughters and a son) This was taken in July at Manchester Airport. My two eldest daughters had treated me to five days in Dublin. My eldest is called Dee ( Delia) (55). The whole family has been rocked by the news that she has just been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She is in hospital and had an op yesterday to drain her bile duct( the tumour is blocking this) They will be deciding how to proceed in a day or two. Being drained by my recovery process from pneumonia I am not capable of going to her as I would have done. The hospital is quite a way away in a different town.I am just sick with worry! Has anyone any personal experience of this? It doesn't seem to be a cancer that many people survive.

Prayers and healing vibes needed!!
Hi Aingeful lovely photo. I am so sorry to hear about your lovely daughter but the treatments these days are amazing so there is always hope. Sending you lots of hugs xx
Hi I'm so sorry to hear your news regarding your lovley daughter please don't think about how long other people survived with it .
The main thing is to be positive and let your daughter know your being positive for her .
I'm sure as you say the hospital will decide with your daughter what's the best course of action to take over the next few days and take things forward for there .
Also dont get despondent that you cant be there due to your own medical conditions...she knows if you weren't so bad yourself you would be there supporting her in every way that you could .
I hope things are turned around quickly for you all and look after each other even from a distance
Take care of you 💞💞💞 PS your both very alike 🙂
Such a beautiful photo Aingeful and I’m sending lots of love and healing to Dee. As Hypercat54 says there is always hope.
Thinking of you all. X x x
Beautiful Photo of you Both, You look like sisters, So Sorry for your Heartache, I know how you will be Feeling, I couldn't get to my Daughter(in Spain) when She had Breast cancer as I too was unable to go being in Hospital myself During that time. couldn't chance the contagious pneumonia I had even if I could have gone. Thankfully The Cancer was eventually Zapped with Chemo & radio. Today she is a Bundle of Health & Having a Great Time. She has managed to come here to UK Lots of times since her treatment & Op. She has booked flights to arrive with y Granddaughter in January for Both their Birthday's, So Ainge don't be Down as the Treatment for Cancer today is Amazing. Love n Hugs . XXXX C.
Lung cancer also has a poor survival rate partially due to the fact that it is notoriously difficult to treat, yet there are a few survivors on here, myself included. So there is room for hope.
See if she can get on a clinical trial, with AZD1775, that is showing a lot of promise:
I will try!) I know that it is a tricky cancer to deal with,I've googled it which was probably a mistake! So glad your daughter is well.It feels so wrong when your children suffer doesn't it? X
I am thinking about you all Aingeful and holding your hand. xx
Thanks Littlepom,I can feel it from here! X

My neighbour had this at 60 . She thought it was the end of the road but now, twenty years on she is fighting fit. Pancreatic cancer can and is beaten. My very best hugs and kissesxxxx
Wonderful picture Aingeful, but so sorry to hear your news of your daughter.
My tutor of years ago actually had her pancreas removed and she was thriving back then. There are different types of Pancreatic cancer and of course difference stages of cancer, so a lot depends on what type and what stage the cancer is, if it is contained in situ or if it has spread to other parts.
I am praying for your daughter that the cancer is contained in situ and that the surgery goes well with clear margins and her recovery is good.
Sending you and your daughter healing thoughts of strength and calm at this time and so hope the news you hear is the best it can be.
Luv n hugs
Thanks Bkin, that is what I am hoping for too.xx

Hello Aingeful . I'm sorry I can't give any practical advice, I don't know anything about pancreatic cancer but I just want to say, the advances in cancer treatment has come along leaps and bounds and I am sure Delia is receiving the best treatment possible. Please heal yourself fully before you go to her. There's no point getting poorly all over again.
Thinking of you during this difficult time.
Love,
Cas xx 🙋🐕
They are finding more ways of dealing with cancer now a days. Near liverpool. .? Is she in clatterbridge? They have the team there and so much new is being learnt and they do have a good reputation..
We are lucky in the NW in Clatterbridge and Christies too
Sending best wishes to you both.
Sorry to hear about your beautiful daughter. Prayers for a swift recovery from her recent surgery and for complete healing. Praying for God's blessings of peace for your family during this difficult time. J.
I am so sorry to hear your daughter’s diagnosis. Do you know what stage it is? I pray there will be a successful treatment available.
Aingeful it is a stressful time for you not only the shock of your daughter's diagnosis but also that you cannot be with her at this time. I pray that the doctors are given wisdom and guidance as to the best course of action for Delia. May God's hands be guiding the surgeons and that you will have comfort and peace at this time. Love, hugs and prayers. xx
Sending prayers hugs and love for Dee and yourself such a beautifull picture of you both keep us all updated xx🙏🙏🙏🙏
Wishing your daughter a good outcome with this illness, and take care of yourself too. Love Irix x
You've got mine coming your daughter's way.
Medicine and cancer treatment come on in leaps and bounds so I'm sincerely hoping this is thecase for your lovely Dee.
Looks like a lot of love in your family - do any of you use WhatsApp? You can have a family group, we did that when one year old grandson had a six hour skull op. It was wonderful to get updates, photos and share the love. Also you can video call which is almost as good as sitting next to a loved one - and it's all free.
Wishing the very best outcome xxxx❤
Thanks Peege. Yes we have a Whats App Family Group plus each of us has our own private message facility. My family formed a group when I was in hospital. We are also having a group that is just for Dee. I have also managed to talk to her a couple of times.X
Good morning Aingeful
Sorry to hear your sad news about your dear daughter. As others have said there are now many more options in cancer treatment. Various cancer centres such as the Marsden often have trials where new innovative medication can be an option.
I have a friend who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, they had conventional treatment alongside alternative treatment at the traditional Chinese medicine hospital.
Ultimately they came through, the cancer regressed and that was 20 years ago, they are still doing very well.
Each person is different in what is the best option for them. As always a supportive, proactive and competent specialist can make all the difference.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Take care
x
That's rubbish news .....hopefully you have a smart phone and can send voice messages and facetime her.....dont give up hope....x
Good morning love, so sorry to hear about your lovely daughter, I sincerely hope that the medical team will put in place a brilliant plan to help her get through this. The advancement in cancer research and treatment has improved tremendously in recent years and I think there’s every reason for you to be positive about the outcome. The picture is lovely, and, as someone else said, you look more like sisters than mother and daughter and that’s a compliment to you, not an insult to your beautiful daughter! Wishing you all the best, love and warm hugs. Christine. 😘🥰XXXXX
Sending you and your lovely daughter very best wishes. Xxx
So sorry to hear this sad news, sending special hugs & prayers to you & your family.

What a lovely photo of you both.

Hi Aingeful a lovely picture of you both. Sending you lots of hope and hugs xx
Prayers for you all, you will get the best treatment here in liverpool. Hope all goes well.
So sorry to hear of your daughter's diagnosis. It sounds as if it has been diagnosed while there are still several options for treatment, which is helpful - the survival rate for pancreatic cancer is low because it is often only discovered in the later stages. Sending healing thoughts and prayers her way.
Even more room for hope, here:
how awful. Hope things improve for you You look like two pas out of a pod! Bless you both
Just wanted to say thinking of you and pray your daughter gets through this. Everyone is different so hopefully she will beat this. Sending Welsh Cwtches (hugs) xxSheila. Just be POSITIVE XX
Prayers and thoughts are with you all. Try not to stress too much as you will make yourself worse.
