Morning everyone hope everyone is feeling ok, so this week hasn’t been a very good one for me, i seemed to have yet another copd flare up and ended up going a&e struggling with breathing and very very wheezy and generally feeling unwell, I was given a nebuliser and took away steroids and antibiotics, it seems that am having all these symptoms but all test Arnt matching up with my symptoms, So am unaware what stage I am, symptoms suggest much more than mild, has anyone else experienced anything like this?

I doubt anyone can match their severity with certain symptoms and how often they come on. Some can be severe and not have many flare ups and some can be mild and have many flare ups. I don't think you can look at it that way. Its like saying you have a mild cold so should only cough once in a while?

A very common thing, the only people who have any idea of what it is like are those who are afflicted themselves.

Hello Ne33 . 👋

It is awful to feel like the doctors just "don't get it". You see they go by numbers and if your spirometry looks normal well.....alls well. But we know as patients how we feel supersedes those numbers. I am wondering if you have an infection. Did they run any tests on your sputum?

I know you have two young children. Very often just the pure exhaustion of running a household, cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping, and generally keeping everything running in reasonable order is enough to wipe the most healthy of people out. Couple that with caring for two youngsters PLUS having a chronic illness......well is it any wonder you have flare ups? Do you have any real support or are you running the whole show all by yourself? 😑 Exhaustion plays a huge role in our mental and physical health. You need to care for you too Le. Please do let us know how things are going for you.

Sending you a big *HUG* ,

Cas xx 🙋🐕💕

Hi cas, thankyou for your reply, yes this is how am being treated to be honest I’ve seen a number of doctors and only one told me it’s copd the rest are saying it can’t be my spirometry is all normal xrays bloods etc, no I haven’t had a sputum sample taken funny enough I mentioned this to one doctor and just said we won’t need to do one of those, the last doctor I seen when I was really poorly last week was from out of hours she seemed really worried about me and did want me to be seen the next day from my own doctor which they couldn’t fit me the next day. Seen a doctor on Friday which was such a waist of time 🙄 I just want to be listened to and to be looked into more the inhalers they’ve given don’t seem to do anything I just want to make sure am given the best treatment for the best chance to be around for longer. I have my husband he’s really good but he does work long hours I do feel exhausted all the time even when I have had a good sleep I don’t feel as thou I have, my parents and husbands parents are a good help, thankyou for messaging me I will keep in touch and let u no how things are going hopefully will get to the bottom of things Le xxx
