I’m not quite sure what test for PH you mean. The usual test is right heart catheterisation, which involves having a wire pushed through your femoral artery and up into your heart, taking measurements as it goes. You are sedated and it doesn’t hurt. You can watch it on tv if you like! I had it done in the Bristol Heart Institute, the doctors were brilliant, I didn’t feel a thing. You have to rest afterwards before they let you home in case you bleed. I was kept in overnight as I had it about six o’clock, and they thought I lived too far away to go home. Try not to worry, it is really not a problem. Hope this is the information you needed. Good luck xx

I know this is a little late to when you asked but I was first tested at my local hospital a number of times with the echo scan then it showed high so was referred to Sheffield.

When I was there I was nuclear MRi standard MRd a CT plus Xray then a RHC and it was confirmed on the day and medication prescribed, and let out all in a day. I am due another RHC in Feb to see if I can change my meds?

Be well

I imagine you have already been given a similar handout:

uhb.nhs.uk/Downloads/pdf/Pi...

Not had one done myself and although not particularly pleasant i think after the initial discomfort you will get used to the 'intrusion' and hopefully after the 24hr period all will be done and dusted and appropriate decisions made as to future medication and treatment.

Best of luck with it all. :)

Ski's and Scruff's x
