Not sure we’ll see it on the South Coast sadly but I’ll look out anyway. Xxxx

I do not hold out any hope at all here even if they could be seen this far South, the light pollution is really bad. I feel that the docks are a major contributor to that problem, especially if there is a haze or mist.

On the rare nights when there’s a clear sky I can see the Northern Lights very brightly here. Unfortunately it rains most of the time so I don’t see them all that often. Where my brother lives in Northern Norway the northern Lights are something else, you can eat by the light of the Northern Lights without needing to put any other lights on, and they fill the whole sky. ✨ I hope you get to see them tonight.

There’s quite a bit of solar activity this evening so if there’s a clear sky where you are it could be worth taking a look. I’m not sure how far south in the U.K. the Northern Lights would be visible.

Or you could try Ski’s amazing build your own Northern Lights 😁 (if you have an entire workshop full of tools)

And a lot of patience and go easy with the blowtorch on your o2 cylinder, maybe i didn't quite work that one through?btw it's stopped raining in Manchester but skies are cloudy so its back to the workshop. :)
