Love your writings, they brighten the day, but want to ask you about the coastguard station at Crosby with the iron men that I know you visit. My sister was visiting and doesn’t see the sea much from her home in princes risborough. So , living in Liverpool I took her up there. It was magnificent. High tide, on shore wind, iron men just visible between waves. She and my husband walked for about an hour and loved it with lots of ships passing. I walked snail pace for about 10 mins then sat and watched. A week later ( I also love the sea) I went by myself.
Off shore wind ( full of grass pollen etc) the tide was out, muddy flats, not a success.my hay fever got worse with offshore wind.
Could I ask you, is this general, tide out _ off shore wind. Have you any hints as to best times as regards an onshore wind..it’s so much better for me.
I would say that an off-shore wind at high tide would be quite unusual. If you see me there next time you visit introduce yourself and have a cup of tea with me. If your timing is right there might even be a hot bacon butty available too. 😉
Like writing entertainng poems, you mean, don't you? Something you would never have done in your busier days! I think you may have triggered a poetic memory there Don, wait for it! Love Irs x
Quite right Iris, I've been writing stuff all my life but never thought to write poems before. Now I find it great fun and finding other people enjoy them is a bonus.
We’ll speak for yourself about new things! I’m still doing the same old things and they just take me at least twice as long. When I go out into the garden I find after an hour I’ve had enough and need to sit down but seriously it’s always good to take up new things and apparently this best thing you can do as an anti ageing strategy.
Morning Mr.D and your rhyme is so true. I've been wondering where you've been,so great to see you once again,so to speak! How did you and your girls all cope with the high temperature 's of recent days?
Yes,you see I always knew it :-from the day you first introduced her, I knew she looked like me (her aging knitwear is a close, uncanny resemblance to my ever growing older i.e. wrinkles! 🙉🙈🙊).She really needs to change her clothing as it's been hot in your motor home and the same really for Dolly poor lass. Luckily Midge can move around as she pleases and is happy to be beside you with a bowl of water.Well that's enough to bore you to an early nap!!!
