Happy Tuesday everyone 😊❤️xx
Pete and I have had our covid and flu jabs but I would say that Pete will never have the two together again. He was quite poorly so it’s one at a time from now on.
Happy Tuesday to you too. Xx
Poor Pete, send him my best Carole. Hard when you try to do the best and that happens. But you are not saying he shouldn't have them in future and that is important.
I had each one in a different arm. The nurse said they "take better" that way. Of course if you have a bad after effect, you don't know which vax is responsible. So good Pete will have them separately. I was knocked out the following day but then ok after that. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to have these jabs - even if I get covid or flu, they are likely to be much less severe. You take care Carole, lots of love to both of you xxxxxxxx
Thank you Jean, always good to have the jabs. Pete has to have the flu and covid jabs as he would be so very ill without them. I have them to protect him and myself as his carer. People make their own choices and I have a friend who doesn’t have the flu jab and won’t have another covid jab. That’s up to her but it’s a no brainer to me.
You take care and stay safe and well xxx🩷
I was annoyed when the doctor's surgery did my flu jab but couldn't do the covid at the same time, I had to wait for an invite at another centre. No after effect from the flue jab but a bit wobbly after the covid, so I was glad I had the separately. 😊xx
Up to you, adenough. But I have to say that I don't enjoy reading anti vaccination posts on here.
How strange, I hope you don't live to regret it. Bit of a oxymoron there. 😉x
Hello adenough
Thank you for your post
The decision to have any vaccine is an individuals choice. However, as a lung charity, we would advise those who can have the COVID and Flu vaccines to do so, especially those with health conditions or are of an age that would make them more vulnerable to infection
The COVID-19 vaccines are the best way to protect yourself and others from coronavirus. The vaccines have been shown to:
Reduce your risk of becoming seriously ill or dying from Covid
Reduce your risk of getting and spreading Covid
Protect you against different types of Covid
And you can read our frequently asked questions about the Flu vaccine here -

If you would like to chat to us or have any questions or worries about the vaccines, do feel free to call the Helpline on 0300 222 5800 (Mon - Frid 9.15am-5pm)

Really? On reading that I was waiting to see the punch line but you're serious. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I personally think your statement should be kept to yourself. Those vaccines have helped so many people and are so very important to individuals who are high risk
I have been vaccinated but after my COVID booster 2 years ago, I was so poorly that I swore I would not have another booster again. However, I was considered quite healthy then. Fast forward to now, multiple hospital stays and a recent lung disease diagnosis and I'm taking any vaccinations going!
I have lots of health issues including bronchiectasis and RA. I had flu and Covid jabs together with no effects apart from a stiff arm. I am the better for it.
Hi I was thinking about the 2 together but finally had them on Saturday after much deliberation and I was surprised how unaffected I have been since apart from arm soreness 24hrs afterwards. Last year had them separate from each other and was in pain for 8 weeks from covid jab in the muscle. Not too sure of the benefits due to having a cold 10 days ago but it's done now
My husband has recently had his booster & flu jab. A sore arm on the covid side for a day or two.I'm very glad he has as I've got covid! Hopefully 6 jabs & 2 doses of covid will protect him from succumbing.Unfortunately I'm not eligible for a free flu jab or the covid booster as I'm under 65. Living with a vulnerable person & working in Early Years education doesn't change the decision.
Hi. Are you sure your not entitled to both vaccines. Both my husband and son ( who is only living temporarily with us) got the vaccines, my son was also given the flu jab at the same time 🌹
According to my doctors surgery I'm not.... I'll do some more research online.
nhs.uk/conditions/covid-19/...
I hope Ive managed to copy the link for you 🌹
Yes, my husband had both this year because I’m immunosuppressed.
If you are not entitled on the NHS for the jabs you can most likely get it done at a pharmacy as I have done over the years with the flu jab…..before I reached 65.
I paid £13 for the flu jab 3 years ago at Lloyd’s Pharmacy. I had to book it online.
Yes that's correct, I used to do that many years ago pre lupus and lung fibrosis. I think the issue was being told that she didn't qualify for the covid vaccine which she does as her husband is vulnerable 🌹
Hi Carol, Thanks for your reply. I was actually replying to Littleeak when I hit the reply button to you, (afterwards realising my mistake).
I was attempting to let Littleeak know that there are alternatives for flu jabs in case she didn’t already know. You were smart to get an annual flu jab. My old doctor told me that he believed that even if one didn’t catch the flu, the jab can limit the severity of colds.
Best wishes to you, T57 xx
So it's not just me who replies to the wrong person 😂🤣. I've only ever had the flu on one occasion when I was a lot younger and healthier and it was horrendous, would hate to to imagine how I would be now. 🌹
I've had all my covid and flu jabs when available. My Ex husband didn't believe in the covid jab and people got in his mind about them and he died from Covid almost 2 yrs ago age 50 so who was the fool x
Good morning adenough I think we are all entitled to decide for ourselves. There does to seem to be more cases of sports people dropping to the floor during matches. I would have thought they had everything checked over regarding heart health on a regular basis. So not so sure about the covid jabs. However because I have copd and Asthma I decided to have the jabs again. But have them separately. Plus I am having 3 monthly Hepertitas B jabs at present. So have to wait 2 weeks after that before I can have either of the 2 jabs. But it's your decision. Hope you keep well. Brian
I had my Flu and Covid jabs 2 weeks apart. I didn’t want to have them both together.
The nurse who administered the Covid said I was very sensible to do so because she’d been very poorly after having the two together last year and this year she’d had them done separately.
Good morning Tempo57. I have had mine both together in the past and had no problems but with me having Hepatitis B jabs at present and hearing about people feeling ill with this latest jab. I decided to have them separately. Hope you have no reactions and have a good day. Brian
Hello Bingo88, I think you’ve been very sensible. We don’t know what might react with any drugs we may be currently taking or any medical conditions we have.
I’ve had no reactions thankfully but I have had Covid 5 times…! I actually thought that perhaps I didn’t need a top-up Covid jab this year, but upon re-thinking I decided to have it anyway, just separately from the flu jab. I did it this way last year with no reactions either.
Keep well and sending all my good wishes to you. T57
I like lots of others, don't agree with your post. It's an individual choce and no need to Broadcast yours on this site .I wish you well xx.Sheila
I can't see why you shouldn't post your views here. Everyone who reads them is a grown up and capable of making their own decision. We are a probably better informed group than people in general. Personally I grab any jabs going as soon as possible. Good luck in avoiding the dreaded bugs.
I have had eight covid jabs now, with no adverse reaction from any of them. Can you tell us what made you decide not to have them ???
Its an individual choice ofcourse. I had both the flu and covid jags together and felt a bit under the weather for a few days. Ive only had flu once, many years ago when I wouldnt have been eligible for a jag and felt absolutely grim for a week+.
I had covid last year and didnt feel awful but would rather not take the chance of seeing what it's like without the jag.
Theres been a lot of scaremongering about vaccines since covid, and people make up their own minds but I tend to go with what the medics recommend and they certainly recommended I take both jags.
So I do.
Hi, I happen to think everone is entitled to their own opinions on what is good for themselves. Unfortunately since having the over 65 flu vaccine in 2018 and having adverse reactions I react to every vaccine now. I felt that I should have the Covid vaccine in Februrary 2020 which made things worse, so no more flu or Covid vaccines for me. Last year Immunology gave me a Tetanus vaccine and a third or fourth pneumoccal vaccine…cant quite remember, which made things worse. Apparently they all have an ingredient in which I react to, probably my immune system. Obviously there is no help or understanding because everone else is OK. The last time I felt well was 2017 and I object to being called an antivaxer just because I decide not to have them. Lots of people still get Covid over and over again even when vaccinated. I had it once, last October and felt better in one day with antivirals.
My partner cannot wait to be given all the jabs which dont affect him apart from the odd sore arm.
As I say this is my story and nothing to do with being an anti vaxer.
For a brief time I decided not to have the jabs together as my daughter in law was quite poorly after hers. However I went ahead and got them over with - no problems.
We have had both jabs done a couple of weeks apart (our choice). Only have them done as we fly long haul for a couple of months in the sun. No side affects this year. My wife’s arms never even got sore.
So have you refused all six so far? And have you had COVID? And what5do you expect when you do? For the record I think you are a fool who is easily misled by other fools.
I have had mine flu and covid but I have flu first then week after had covid one I wouldn't have both together they try to persuade me but firmly refuse to be honest I'm frightened is it because you have been bad through havin both at same time that you won't have them again I'm just wondering incase there's something I didn't know bout jabs hope I haven't sounded intrusive it's not my intention
Felt awful after covid booster. Splitting headache, nausea, fever for a couple of days, but I've had Covid and it lasted longer. Personally I am also glad to help protect my husband who has CLL and pulmonary fibrosis.
Didn't have 'flu vaccine as allergic to eggs and never yet been offered the alternative vaccine. Only had 'flu once and was very grateful that the steroids helped especially when my lung function dropped to 120. Remember hanging over the side of the bed trying to cough up the mucus. We are individual but I am very grateful to have vaccines available.
Ea to heir own.i had both
Sadly a good friend of mine said the same. We burried him last year just befor christmas. He died of flu so sad and so preventable. But up to you 🤷♀️
