Keep walking!

β€’42 Replies

I've bought a three wheeled walker,

For doddering about.

It's got a little seat on it

For when my breath runs out.

I'm not short of wheels,

I've got them large and small.

But I still like to take a walk

For problems to forestall.

Because they always tell us

And it's true I'm sure

That if you never use it,

Then it won't work no more!

No speeding Don, I hope it has brakes for downhill slopes πŸ˜„

β€’ in reply toMagpuss

Yes it has brakes and I think it has a speed limiter too. I don’t seem to be able to get it past 20mph. 😟

And what of me i hear Midge say

All very nice on a sunny day

In the camper van it was nice and cosy

Running behind new wheels life ain't so rosy

What next Master Po a Hang Glider? :)

Ski's and a sleeping Scruff's xx

β€’ in reply toskischool

I don’t think Midge would ever say that.

You see she’s getting rather fat.

She’ll come with me without complaint

Because she wants to lose some weight.

I’m not considering hang gliding yet

Hangover is the nearest that I'll get. πŸΊπŸΊπŸ˜‰

You’ve reminded me of my dad, Don. He had a three wheeler pusher too, went out each day and said he felt a lot better for It. Enjoy your trips out in the fresh air! 🌲🌳🌲

Two wheels, three wheels, four wheels... where will it end? Big truck with six? How about a unicycle?

Keep on keeping on...

Love the rhymes Don, but where do you get the sketches from, they are both fab xx

β€’ in reply toIzb1

I pinch them from the internet since I can’t draw, I wish I could.😟

Izb1 profile image
Izb1β€’ in reply to

I am intrigued, do you think of a rhyme and then find a sketch, or the other way round??

β€’ in reply toIzb1

The subject comes first, then the rhyme, then the googling for an image. Choosing the search words carefully usually brings up something near to what I have in mind. In fact picking a subject is getting to be the hardest. I must have written something approaching 300 rhymes by now. Enough to keep people busy for quite some time after I've gone, if they have a mind to do that. πŸ˜‰

Don, I'd be lost without my wheels. I have a chunky four wheeled walker with a sturdy padded seat. I call it my princess chair. It's great for a little local shopping or sitting on when using the local buses. Only downside it's a hefty weight and it still chunky when folded. o I now have a light weight, umbrella fold 4 wheeler, looks like a directors chair on wheels. It's not as sturdy but far better when being given lifts in friends cars.

I never imagined I'd be so happy to have 2 wheely walkers.

Much love xx

β€’ in reply towheezyof

My old Dad was a carpenter and always stressed how important it was to have the right tools for the job. And that applies to everything you do in life πŸ˜‰. My walker is an aliminium lightweight one that fits easily in the tiny boot of my car for shopping etc. It’s also good for walking Midge around the block. I was getting a bit concerned about walking too far and having trouble getting back. Then it occurred to me that I could walk around supermarkets pushing a shopping trolley much further than with just my walking stick. Keeping our legs working is so important. πŸ‘£πŸ‘£xx
