Lung removal
Hi and welcome, yes you are on the right forum. I am sure there will be someone who has had a lung removed, we all have lung problems on here. We are a happy friendly bunch who support each other, so please keep posting on have a lovely day and take care of yourself 😊 Bernadette xx
Hi yes I had my right lung removed in1994 due to cancer even though I never smoked. Unfortunately I have asthma in my left lung but it is controlled. I get around ok. Just slower than everyone else
Thanks for your reply. It was my right lung too, what I have been trying to find out is why I lean to the right now?
0k. I leaned to the right as well. It was 2 years before I finally got used to it. For me it was the post op pain on the right. Even now after all these years I still pull over to the right occasionally.
Thanks, it’s been 2 years and it’s getting more pronounced!
I am 8 years out from having my left lung removed after stage 2 cancer and also have a bit of asthma. My consultant who I still see annually told me that the leaning is because the muscles in between the ribs (intercostal muscles) tend to shrink. I play golf a lot for exercise and that has helped me as my leaning is not very noticeable. Try stretching exercises, that may help.
