Has Anyone Ever Been Given To take 2 500g amxocicillian , 3 times per day for infection as im worried its a to big odf a dose.

Did you read the leaflet on dosage. I'm sure I took 1000mg doses of amoxicillin back in the day

Just finished this AB for 3 x day for 5 days after coming out of Hospital, Back on my Azithromycin from Tomorrow. They worked very well. xxxx

Back in the 1980s I took 3000 mg (made up from powder form) twice each day for an extended period with no harm. However, I am more cpncerned that you are being given an old fashioned drug when their are far more effective ones available.

All I know is, last time I was in hospital I was given a huge dose of prednisone, I was worried but, when I thought about it, it was overkill in a short amount of time, because of my other issues, & prednisone well known side effects, including addiction, was a chance the hospital had to take. My edema, etc. Were ganging up on me! I think that is why they kept me in for bedt part of a week, to monitor closely.

Anyway! You should have some sort of free phone health line, ring them up, & ask them.

It is not an unknown dose to be given. Obviously an adult dose is normally 500mg but there have been times when I have been given 1000mg.

Yes my husband has had a lung abscess and has been taking 3gms amoxicillin twice a day together with doxycycline three times a day for 6 months. He’s just had the all clear and has stopped them. I wouldn’t worry about taking 3gms a day, my husband took 6gms a day and it definitely saved his life.
