The Technological Roundabout.

If you climbed upon the roundabout

When you were only young

It would be fairly easy

As whirling round you clung

But it would get much harder

As the years began to pile

Your brain becomes much slower

And not as versatile

But the roundabout won't slow down

The speed will just increase

And hanging on gets harder

But you dare not release

You've made too much commitment

Your valuables are stored

Upon that blasted gadget

In it's mother's board.

So you'll remain it's captive

For years and years and years

Getting off that roundabout

Can only end in tears.

Most of my stuff seems to be in the clouds now!

AND remembering my passwords is a nightmare!

They say every cloud has a sliver lining, in fact you'll find it's cast iron if you forget your password! 😅

How very true Don, my biggest fear is losing data, along with trying to remember where its backed up to. This gets harder as the years pass.

Love it Don. I used to make fun of my parents (like we all did) when I was young and quick. Now though I totally get where they were coming from and say sorry to them regularly! I hope they can hear me up on their clouds. x

in reply to hypercat54

They are probably taking good care of your data up there as I hope mine are of mine. 🙄

Hi Mr.D..... I'm afraid I'm going to agree with PMRPete and Pantani as it's getting to be more difficult to remember where my data is, which closed has it and what the blinking he'll are the correct passwords?🙊🙉🙈😡😤😂😂😃😃

Oh well,it can only get worse!!!! Hope you're keeping well?

in reply to SquirrelsHolt

I’m keeping going thank you SH, being ‘well’ is a rare condition here I fear. 😉😘

Morning Mr.D. and thanks for your reply! I'm sorry about the typo errors in my reply to yours........ "closed" instead of cloud & "he'll" instead of hell. Think I need to get stronger 👓

reading glasses 👓!!!!

in reply to SquirrelsHolt

I don't even see my own typos so I'll never notice yours. 😅

I think every generation thinks the older generation are luddites and the younger generation are scary and incomprehensible and alien. But until recently I think the generations could recognise each other, recognise things. Something from 30 years ago wasn't that different. But someone from 30 years ago would barely recognise the technology now. It changes so fast. We won't recognise the world in 30 years time. The technology almost exists to print what people are thinking. It's very basic but it's already almost there. People will be connected to the internet. Humanity will change. We will be seen as primitive beings.

Sounds familiar, only I don't have grandchildren. HELP!

in reply to Ergendl

Me neither. I can’t remember when a child last came into this house and yet I’m plagued with child-proofed everything with my bent arthritic fingers.
