Hi Raijee.

The only thing I use for sore throat is TREE OIL.

10 drops of full strength t tree I get from Aldi or cut price drugstores but does not matter where from.

Again 10drops in halo a tumbler of warm water, gargle with solution every two hrs to start, then reduce to every 4hrs.

Works almost immediately .

Get well soon!!!

I use manuka honey dissolved in hot water. Have also used a spray I think it was chloraseptic. Have you had it for long? Do you think you need to see a doctor? Take care and wishing you a speedy recovery, TAD xx

Buy some 'Strepsils®, from a pharmacy. They do numb your throat if you get the right ones.

I use a combination of Strepsils and TCP gargle - works a wonder, especially if I do it straight away the minute I get a sore or tickly throat. so far this winter it has meant I haven't had much in the way of a chest infection. I often go to sleep sucking a strepsil - probably not all that good for my teeth, but really helps with coughing and sleep.

Corvonia Throat Spray from the chemists. It's a miracle worker for me. It's one of the few throat sprays to contain an antiseptic as well as an analgesic.

I use it to kill germs before they go down my airways - I'm not interested in the analgesic aspect, I can take paracetamol for any pain. As above, dilute TeaTree will kill bugs too.

Mind you, you perhaps ought to see your doc, if you use an inhaler without rinse/gargle then you may have thrush in your throat which needs treating with antifungals before it spreads to the airways.

good luck. P

Try gargling with soluble paracetamol - it clings to the throat and may bring relief. Good luck!

Hi Raijee, gargle with soluble Dispirin (or soluble Aspirin ) every 4 hrs, you don't have to swallow the solution, mix it with some water and gargle till all the mixture has gone, spitting it out afterwards.

Gargling is the best way for sore throat, If you look at your throat in the mirror, if there are white bits, then you will have to see your GP asap. Or if you have a temp. Is there any reason you have a sore throat? are you on any Immune Supressive Drugs? Then again you must see your GP, But It won't affect anything if you gargle with soluble Aspirin, Good Luck hope you feel better soon.x

The best and quickest remedy I found is ibuprofen. I developed a headache when I had a cold and sore throat. I took the ibuprofen to relieve my headache and discovered it helped get rid of my sore throat. I use it every time I get a sore throat.

Actually, when I thought about it, made perfect sense. A sore throat is inflammation, and ibuprofen reduces that, so there you go!

Hope it helps !

Feel better
