Noninvasive ventilation assessment
I have no idea but I hope it goes well for you 🤞
Hope everything goes well for you, please let us know how you get on. Take care of yourself 😊 Bernadette xx
If it is the same as I had, it is relatively straight forward. You have a mouthpiece attached to a tube/machine and the technician asks you to blow, hold your breath etc etc. They record readings on on a computer screen. Nothing too difficult - if you can’t do what they are asking just say. Please don’t worry about it. The info they gain will really help develop your treatment plan.
Thanks, it's to see if I would benefit from using a ccap or PPAP (I think that's what they are called) during the night because I'm on oxygen all night I find I'm waking up very tired and weary for a few hours xx
I use a Bipap machine as I was waking up with awful headaches which was a sign of oxygen shortage during the night. Can’t believe the difference it’s made and couldn’t do without mine now. I had to wear a monitor round my waist overnight and wear an ox meter on my finger, also had blood gases done by simple blood test from ear lobe. Had to take machine back next day. They assessed the info and decided I was retaining too much co2. Was then supplied with Bipap machine and suitable mask. I’ve since had the levels adjusted on the machine because the blood gases are neatly normal. There’s nothing to it really and my team are really lovely. Good luck with your assessment .
