On scanner of Thorax there is a node of 14 mms
One pneumologue ignores it
Other says it is a good idea to have PET scan.
I have no symptom as of now...
So what to do.....

I would just to be sure x
If the nodule has appeared quickly or grown fast then yes, have the PET Scan. If it is a malignant tumour then the sooner it is treated the better the chance that it can be cured before it can infect a lymph node. It does not surprise me one bit that you have no symptoms. Lung cancer is very good at hiding away and by the time any symptoms present themselves then it can be too late for a cure and has probably already metastasised (spread to other organs). It really is not worth taking the risk of ignoring it.
Thanks Patsy and grey...
I never smoked and am 76 years female in good health. However as a young kid I had serious lung infection being a war child in post east Germany. In my maternal family, three died out of lung infection and smoking.
It was casual Thorax Xray and then they did thorax scan a month ago. Is the nodule lyying since long or it appeared recently after bad lingering cold and cough.
Get the PET Scan done it is very similar to a CT Scan but takes a little longer.
There is an injection first, of a mildly radioactive glucose, then a 30 min complete rest. Then the scan, there is no holding of your breath, the scan takes approx 20 mins.
Most nodules are benign and nothing to worry about. If the results come back as positive for cancer then do not panic or worry, there are several options of treatment for a cure.
You are not alone with this. There are several members here that have or have had lung cancer, including myself.
