A little golf for the soul

Haven't played golf for 7 months. Today, I went to the course and hit a bucket of balls and chipped and putted on the practice green. It felt good to be back. Also, I'm getting so dang fat. Oh, well. Breathe easy, everyone.

Hi Challny, good for you, if it felt good, do it some more and enjoy, especially now the nice weather is on its way x

Thanks, Skatergirl1 ... I've been dealing with COPD for 2 years, and I agree with you that exercise is the best medicine for this disease. Best to you.

Well done for getting back out there! Enjoy!! xx Moy

Good for you @challny stick with your golfing as long as you possibly can. 🙂 Last year I finally gave my clubs away, a very sad day. Thank goodness we get good TV coverage of The Masters, I always look forward to that..

Hey Challney I'm a golf fanatic forever...and the winters in Midwest USA are hard to take . It is a huge pleasure to get back at it in the spring. I work on it the best I can in the house through the winter, trying to stay in shape. But, I too get fat...but lose it all again through spring and summer.

@Schmicter, just a few years ago I was walking 27 holes 2 or 3 times a week using a push cart. I totally quit golf about 7 months ago after playing regularly for decades because of my COPD. So it was nice to get out yesterday and hit a few on the range. Would like to get back to playing. Here on the Gulf Coast you can play nearly year-round. I'm almost 67 and not on 02

Sounds familiar,I quit for a few years also I only ride a cart now, not on O2 either, it is a game of a lifetime and you can still play at a pretty high level even into old age.

Fair weather golfers? I've got more than 9 golf courses within 10 miles from my home which are busy all year round. In winter we played with orange balls. 😉

I would love to have a go at golf, but the price of joining a club puts me off 😂
