How can I get a more productive cough , I am taking Mucinex, and antibiotic, but the chest cough is tight and affects my breathing better. The doctor wants the "phlegm" to come up, and for it to be clear somewhat; because that is what is causing this "tight cough". I have a cool-mist humidifier set up, but that has done nothing . Sure makes the air better; but so far my cough has not improved whatsoever.
I do have COPD but nothing severe. Any help, sure would be appreciated.

I run a singing for lung health group, and people with mucus issues who sing for nearly an hour using diaphragm breathing usually start coughing up mucus at about 15 minutes. Could be worth a try.
