Hi I am new on here and wrote last week. I have had a cough and catarrh both blowing my nose and this awful gurgling/bubbling in my throat that when I cough is green since end of October. I am also making these awful wheezy sounds at time and keep having to cough to clear my throat. Took your advice on here but dr just gave me some nasal suspension drops and told me to send a sputum test in. Just basically said it’s nothing. Some days I feel rotten with it and also have a horrible smell in my nose. Anyone got any ideas what this is. I know it’s not a medical site as such but it’s stressing me out so much. Would really appreciate any suggestions. Have booked to see a different go but can only get in next Monday. Thanks for taking the time to read this

Bubbling in throat
Sounds like an infection with green mucus but maybe the new gp will realise this and prescribe some antibiotics being as the nasal drops haven’t worked. I get a bubbly sound in my throat and try to get it up and out of my system because that just makes it all worse. Good luck with the other gp and let’s hope he gives you something to finally clear this up. Xx😊
Thank you. I have had two lots of antibiotics at the beginning but just not shifted it and gp very dismissive. Xx
The sputum test will tell you if you have an infection and the best sort of antibiotics to take.
I'm not sayng this would cure your problem but have you tried Bubble therapy to clear your chest.? Also get a Neti pot to rinse your sinuses. There should be plenty of info on these alternate therapies. Give it a try.
Good luck.
Of course I am not a Dr but it sounds like a sinus infection. They can be very hard to shift. Keep nagging at the Dr
I’m sure the sputum test will give you the answers you need. Might be an idea to check the results are back before you return for another appointment. Good wishes.
Try using Sterimar to rinse your nose out twice a day, and chase your doctor for results on sputum sample so you can get onto the correct antibiotics quickly. Your doctor doesnt sound like he understands your condition, have a talk with him or change your doctor. Hope you get better soon x
Oh dear Deezy24 you really have had enough of this "cold", haven't you? I know 3 people who are also suffering like you, some with the added sinus or ear inflammations. Either way,its just horrid and it lingers on. The advice for a sputum test is 100% accurate and you should provide one asap. Then the GP will know which if any antibiotic to give you. I'm not surprised to learn your GP isn't very proactive and this seems to be more and more commonplace. Finding a GP that has respiratory knowledge and understanding is vital,so I hope at your practice, there is at least one GP for you to go to. Its a case of being bold, ask the receptionist which Doctor takes patients with respiratory problems. Come back and tell us that you have got a truly considerate and understanding Doctor and he's taking great interest in you! Best wishes.
Sounds to me like you have an infection you should go back to your doctor
You should probably need some antibiotics
Hi you must get antibiotics asap , tell your gp they have to sort you out , good luck .!!!
