hello I seen your post I've had a pulmonary embolism. and if I was you I would not wait until morning it's very serious. and you could die you need instant blood thinners and 6 month of treatment. and is agony

i was in hospital for a few days with my asthma a couple years back and a woman opposite me had a blood clot on lung and she said it was most painful thing she has ever known she was on morphine and that was hardly touching it sometimes she would scream out with the pain was awful for her

janlyn, don't be fobbed of with just a chest x ray as a high res ct scan with contrast is the normal diagnostic tool for diagnosing a pulmonary embolism which would normally be dealt with immediately after diagnosis, usual by administering blood thinning agents such as heparin to try to break down a clot.

Hi.

I'm hoping it's not a blood clot, guess the doctor is concerned with the pain I'm having, which came on suddenly, I had been out walking my dog.

I have had and still got a very nasty chest infection, and on 1000mg of Antibiotics a day.

My legs are not swollen, and this morning the pain has gone at the moment, but still feel poorly.

Anyway I've got my doctors letter and now off to the hospital get it checked out.

Wish me luck.

Janet 😊

for a pulmonary embolism clots always start in the legs but on the lung it will have travelled there before you noticed it on your leg

Did you have to stay in hospital?

Hi, yes I've had them. Painful little blighters too. Last stay in hospital, where even I didn't think I would come out without a wooden overcoat, I had 7 blood clots. 1 in each lung, 1 near my heart, 1 in each leg and either side of my neck. I was given heperin in a drip and then allowed home with rivaoxiban..,.one pill every day. No problems since.

Hi-How did you get on? When will you receive results?

Great news no blood clot.!!!

I've got Pneumonia and Pleurisy.

Bad enough, but it will clear up.

Plenty of rest. 🙂

Janlyn make sure they also do a D dimmer. Insist on it. It shows up pulmonary embolism. Like Burbagegran I lost my husband 10 yrs ago . Taken to hospital with chest infection, didn't check for embolism. They Phoned me next morning. He was gone. No goodbyes. He was 56. I'm sorry, am not trying to scare you just make sure your satisfied and happy with the care you get x. Wishing you good luck and let us know how you are x

Hi there i have had recurring pulmonary embolisms.

They were always painful and the second time i had several clots i was still active but just felt breathless like i had a cold. I did not realise until i blacked out and taken to hospital.

Clots are not to be sat on your dr should have sent you immediately . They can be fatal.

Make sure you get checked well.

All the best take care

6 years ago my husband had chest x-ray done for chest pain and we never heard anything so thought all was well. 6 weeks later we had the police knocking on the front door saying my husband had to go to the hospital immediately. When we got there they were very apologetic and said his xrays had been sent to the wrong department but they had discovered that day that he had 6 blood clots on his lung! He had to have the warfarin injections etc and he was in a lot of pain but after 6 months he was given the all clear.
