I'v been having pain on my left side. Seen my GP and thinks I might have blood clot in my left lung. Need to my A And E. I do I have COPD and breathing has been a bit laboured. I have had cancer removed on left lung 5 months ago. It hurts more when I take a breath in. I really don't want to sit and wait for hours and it tells me on Google to ring 111 first don't know why this is. And top off what I'm going through I go to breast clinic as found 2 lumps on my left breast so that's tomorrow 24th September 9.30am. I'm mess and stressed and suffer bad anxiety. Thanks all. X

I'm guessing that PE is pulmonary embolism. I think I'd be going to A&E, explaining at the desk that GP suspects a PE, it should get you through faster.
I can totally understand your reluctance with everything else you have going on.
Perhaps call the BLF helpline for expert advice 03000 030555 UK office hours.
Hope all goes well for you, you have certainly been through a rough time lately. Thinking of you and sending virtual hugs and love. Please keep us up dated on how you are. Have a good day and take care 😊 Bernadette and Jack 🐕 xxxxxx
So sorry you've got 2awful things to deal with at once. Hope that at least one of them proves to be a false alarm. Failing that getting them looked at quickly is excellent, so that treatment can start as soon as possible. Hope you make it to A&E and the best of luck for tomorrow. Please keep us posted. xxxx
Go to A&E under your GP's referal,i imagine they will initialy do a chest x ray to rule out any other obvious causes for your discomfort but will need to do either a VQ scan or CT scan along with blood tests to confirm a PE so anticipate quite a long time at the hospital so advisable to take something to read and possibly some light refrehments and a drink as you may be there for some hours.Good luck you will be in good hands.
Thank COPD16 Will let you know tomorrow of breast results. Also my lung nurse brought first year's Cancer Scan forward for them to do in next two week for pain I'm getting in my left side. Speak soon love. X
Good to know that you have a nurse who is on the ball JoJo, difficult times for you but, as you said below, best to know what you are dealing with. Love Carole xx
Just been in contact the lung nurse at Broad green Heart And lung Hospital who dealt with the removal of my Left lung Cancer 5 month's ago. She has asked my lung cancer team to bring my Scan test's forward from December this year to be scanned in the next fortnight so scanning cancer ringing me in next couple of days. So my Scan will look at pain I'm getting and check for Cancer too. I'm nervous but need to know what pain is too. Thank you for writing back will let you know soon when this will happen. Hope your we'll take care. JoJo clown. X
Hi Jojo , So pleased they're bringing scan forward, I understand your apprehension totally, but sooner you know the full picture, the better Try not to worry too much in between times (easy to say I know), try and do some things you enjoy as anxiety will not help! Keep us informed and just shout if you need a chat 😘😘 xx
Hi jojo please go to A & E now and explain I'm surprised your dr didn't refer you asap as mine did. Please go better to be safe than sorry. Good luck xx
What a lot you have to contend with. I am so sorry, no wonder you are anxious. You should go to A&E, PEs are serious and treatable. If they are diagnosed you need to be on anti-coagulant therapy of some kind. A&E will take the concerns of your GP seriously, you are not wasting anyone’s time.
There is a test for clot that go should have been done . My gp did that a few years ago and I didnt suspect it was a second PE. as i had no pain at all .It was a slide test called di -dimer and I was sent straight to hosplital . Gp called ambulance herself. Go to Aand E if you can and give them details . It might be difficult getting ambulance at present and quicker to go yourself if someone can take you .
I just want to wish you good luck hun🤞 and that you’re a brave soul, I hope you get everything sorted out, it’s rough but take your time, and you’ll be fine.
Thinking of you Jojo and hoping you go to A&E and find out what it is. I hope the breast clinic goes well too.Take care and let us know how you get on. Jax🐶x
Hi, no wonder you are stressed with all that’s happening to you. I think that ringing 111 will enable you to access a doctor quicker at A&E. If you haven’t done so already please get to A&E as PEs are dangerous. I’m surprised that your GP didn’t supply you with a letter to take with you to A&E that advices them of his concerns and helps A&E doctors with diagnosis. I hope that everything works out for you.
Hi JoJo. I went to A&E last year with a suspected PE and was seen fairly quickly treatment started almost straight away. Please go straight to A&E as these are readily treatable and it will be one problem out of the way. Please keep us informed. John 👍
So sorry to read this. If it’s of any use I’ve got through 3 pulmonary embolisms and each time the symptoms were terrific pain upon breathing in. My brother and I both have a hereditary disease which means we will probably keep getting them for the rest of our lives and he has just got over bowel cancer, having been operated on in the last year, which included having most of his lymph nodes removed. However, he’s always quite cheerful and not in any pain but he does tire easily he tells me. You have a lot to deal with all at once but I can only hope you get through this and reach the light at the end of that tunnel, just as he has.
Good luck at the Breast Clinic this morning. Could you go to A&E afterwards? I'm a 13 + years survivor of BC so know what you are going through. If it is the worst, join the Breast cancer care forum - I have met good friends there and 15 of us meet up (pre-covid) every coulple of years.
I had a suspected PE in May this year. Turned out to be Pneumonia. Good luck and get well soon
I had a blood clot in the lungs back in 2017 and I was frightened and had dragged myself into a and e as I was frightened and I saw the triage nurse first who was nice and had an ecg and blood tests and a chest x ray and when the d dimer blood test came back abnormal I had a CT scan with contrast and was diagnosed with blood clots in the lungs and got admitted overnight to the respiratory ward and sent home the following day after dinner.
