Quite a scary list. Highlights the reason for a opt out donar program.😷

Hi

Here’s the full list.

If you look at the number of donors to actually transplant, suitable lungs are in short supply

Lots more info.

Hi Stone, That is why we signed for the "Opt Out" so some of us have a chance to Live. UK has been dragging it's feet for too Long over Donor Consent Issues.. Wales have proved that it works, as other EU Countries. Our Transplant/ Success rate is so small in comparison. xxxx

Hey my transplant buddy. 💕 We are not provided such numbers. And I don't know where I stand in line on our list here. Everything is shrouded in secrecy, which I may say could be a good thing for some. Our average wait time in Japan 🎌 is 800 days. About 50% of patients waiting for transplant will pass away before they get their chance. Because we have so few organs to go around, single lung transplants are more common than double. I must say the survival rate after five years stands at around 72% which is pretty good. I'm not sure what the % is for living donors is. It always lingers in my mind that I may not make it to transplant, but I have to keep looking forward. 😊 xx

I didn’t know a living donor can donate a lung, I thought it was only a lobe. I have learned something new today 💐

Hi Huff. You are quite right. Living donors can only donate a lobe. Not a lung. xx

Hi

It is the lobe, one lobe from each of two donors transplanted to recipient after both lungs have been removed.
