Hi!

Many of us will need help with shopping and other essentials over the coming weeks.

Here is a list of mutual aid groups across the country (I hope the link works).

I sincerely hope these many groups offering help and support do not have the assumption that those most vulnerable have access to social media to contact them and will reach out to those most needy in other sensible and practical ways.Thank you for taking the time posting this,it will be helpfull to many.

This has been a major problem in the area where I live and is a bit of a bug bear of mine so needed to get it off my chest xx

Which is exactly why our local group has the phone number :) It has been published in the local paper and hope those that don't get the paper will get to know through word of mouth. I also placed a card advertising it in the pharmacy this morning as well :)

I despair for those who are self isolating for 12 weeks minimum who would not see help being advertised or have contact with others to hear by word of mouth. If our letterboxes can be stuffed daily with advertising leaflets why not sources of help.support and advice for those most vulnerable. 😥 xx

It would need the Gov to funding to do that, it is all voluntary, they are having to cover the cost of deliveries out of their own pockets as it is, which will get harder as the volunteers themselves get put out of work.

It has been announced now that they will be helping voluntary groups with funding,I dearly hope they will spend it wisely. Our glorious leader kept on repeating today how difficult and heartbreaking it will be for people now he has finally closed the pubs and restaurants ???? and not a mention [again] of how those 'vulnerable people he keeps saying he is trying to protect' by confining them to their homes are expected to be able to eat ???

I better stop there as I have been on my soapbox all day, gathering lots of support from those who agree with total lack of common sense how to get food supplies to all in a fair way but a total blank from those who have the ability to change this who are showing off that they are do gooders and are going to help people but when questioned as to how they will know who is most vulnerable or in what form the support will be just decline to answer when cornered. Grrrrr xx

It's not just social media, they are distributing leaflets in their streets etc.

There are loads. An so many young people. It's one good thing coming out of this dreadful situation, so many people care and inspire others to do the same.
