Im sure its nothing like that, but go see you GP have your chest listened to an ask for a chest xray. Sounds like it could be pleurisy in which case a course of antibiotics along with pain killers, rest and keeping warm will clear it.

Hi Dave and welcome, please go and see your GP, at least it will put your mind at rest. You are going to make yourself worse, for your own piece of mind you need to go. At least then you can stop worrying. Please go and let us know how you get on, we are here to support you so please feel free to post. Take care.😊 Bernadette xx

I agree it could be plurisy, which means you will need antibiotics, and as suggested ask for a chest x-ray and blood tests. Let us know how things go.

It's possible you could be affected by anxiety Dave - it can do all kinds of nasty things to us. The pain could be pleurisy as suggested above since the lungs themselves dont have nerve endings so cant feel pain. But the surrounding membranes - the pleura - do. These are suggestions only - we are not medical people and cant diagnose you. But something seems to be going wrong for you and you need more investigation. You could also ask your GP if spirometry - lung function tests - would be appropriate in view of your breathlessness. Good luck.

If the x-ray doesn't come up with anything, try seeing a physiotherapist or osteopath to see if they can treat the muscular problems.
