Was away to see my consultant last week..

He told me that copd has taken 63% of my lung capacity only 37% is ok ..😢 just discovered I have Bronchiectasis to .. 😡

A lung transplant maybe on the cards but at a later date as I’m still to young and fit for it just now..😩

He sent me for a blood test to see if this copd is genetic .. I’m glad of that ( I think)

🤔

Plus he has put me on an antibiotic Monday Wednesday and Friday Zithromax to see if I can get some quality of life back 🥳.. try get this disease to level out a bit hopefully stop it from going down hill so rapid ..

past few months haven’t been great as you all know so onwards and upwards my friends huge hugs to you all xx

Sorry to hear this Candyred. Is con testing for any genetic cause for the bronchiectasis? Really hope the prophylactic abs help.

I knew you were having a bad time ... hoping things start to get better for you, as much as possible. I didn’t know you could be too young for a transplant? Although a friend of mine who’s just had her 50th birthday needs a hip replacement but has been told she’s too young. I hope the medications do improve your quality of life. 💐 or 🍫 if you’d prefer! Huge hugs to you too.

Hi Candyred .

I am sorry you have had this rather bad news. I am however really pleased that your consultant seems to be in the ball and giving you treatment. As for the transplant it is always good to have options. Please do keep us updated.

Thinking of you,

Cas xx 🌞🍀

Huge hugs to you too. Hopefully you will start to feel a bit better soon. I am taking the antibiotics 3 a week. Haven’t noticed much difference yet but I don’t know what I would be like without them. Wishing you all the best.

Hi Rosie, Glad your getting the correct Meds and should start to feel a bit better soon. I too take AB's 3 times a week, work for me. You say your consultant said "Too Young yet For Transplant" I don't think there is an Age limit. I also had a Hip replacement in my 50's and doing well with that. Been on the Transplant List for 2 + years, had 4 Valves this June, and Exercise as much as I can: Breathe Easy Exercise Group & The Gym, all done on mobile Oxygen. Stay Happy & Positive Hun, You will get there. Love n Hugs. Carolina XXXX
