Little Relief from chest pain which was from 2 years
Hi it could well do. You would be best to put your post on one of the anxiety sites instead of a lung site. They will have more knowledge on there. x
I too suffered from chest pain for years, and although some doctors said it was muscular, I wondered if I had an ongoing chest infection as I was continually coughing up discoloured mucus.
I guess the anti anxiety medication you have would help relax your chest muscles and any spasm.
I hope you find some relief.
In my experience, anxiety hardly ever CAUSES chest pain, mostly the other way round. The usual cause, when other tests are negative, is an irregularity of the spine at the level between the shoulder blades. Unfortunately there are no medical treatments that help much, but fortunately it is easy to treat yourself – you just have to adjust your posture! The problem is caused by sitting with your back curved forwards: all you have to do is to learn to sit upright with your back straight and vertical – so no stooping over a computer or slouching in a comfy sofa, for 3 months and it will go away.
It does with me I get worked up over my breathing and can feel the muscles across my chest getting tighter ad through to my back. My doctor said I need to relax and breathe slowly to help slow things down which does help
Yes, I believe it can & does, having experienced it.
At it's worst many years ago I eventually found that learning to ignore it was the best way for me to overcome it. I had had many tests to exclude physical reasons all of which were negative.
That said, I still get chest pain related to anxiety from time to time now, but I am aware of what is causing it which helps.
