I have been going through chest pain for last 04 months in the right side of my chest. I also experience shoulder on the right side . The pain seems to come straight from my right lung. My lung seems to have cramps, knots, smarting and mild nailing. I have been to plenty of doctors and after examination t they said it was not serious. I have taken a lot of medicines without any sort of relief. I underwent various imaging tests including ultrasound , x-rays, PFT ETC , all came out normal. Recently I saw a pulmologist abiut my problem and he concluded that it was anxity or depression. My pain continues . I m so worried about it. Can anyone tell me what could it b because I m sick of seeing doctors over and over about my problem . Thanks brothers and sisters .

Chest and shoulder pain
Hello Madum . 👋😊
I am very sorry about your pain. Undiagnosed pain is dreadful and scary. I well understand. Is your pain constant all day every day or worse during certain times of the day?
I know this may sound silly, but have you been for a second and third opinion? Your doctor also mentioned anxiety and depression. Do you have a history of mental health issues? Or is this news to you? Have you seen a mental health professional?
I know it's very overwhelming at the moment. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, and it took them six months to give me a definite diagnosis and start treatment. And all that time, I was in constant pain. I was given pain medication and told very much what you were. I began to think I was losing my mind. 😑
I would say to you, don't give up trying to find what the issue is. It may very well be anxiety, but if you feel like there's much more to it, keep getting different opinions. Find a medical team you are comfortable with and who will work with you.
I understand how trying this is, but please hang in there. It will get better. Please let us know how things go.
Sending warm wishes,
Cas xx 🌞🌷
I had been in a state of anxity for several years in the past which has taken a toll on my health. One of the doctors initially diagnosed it with GERD and others with acid reflux, but I donot think that might b the case now. My simultaneous chest and shoulder pain keeps comming and going and the duration of pain is about 2 to 3 hours a day. At times I begin to think that the pains r triggered by lung cancer but doctors opinion is opposed to my idea. During these 04 months of pains, there were substantial periods of intervals when I did not feel it but unlucky it came back again. Thanks a lot for your answer Caspiana
Thanks
Yes I had and still have a similar complaint chest pain and both shoulders,it’s become part of my COPD now. I did insist on a CT scan in the end though after numerous Gp appointments.
Hi madum, i have been having a pain in the middle of my back and around my chest for quite a long time, I too had alot of tests but nothing wrong with my heart, although it felt like a heart attack, doctors just gave me lanzaprazole saying it was acid reflux. I saw a nurse when having an echicardiogram who suggested my doctor tests for h.pylori and blow me it was postitive, I am now on metronidazole, amoxycillin and omerprazole for 7 days and hoping this is the last of my pain. Ask your gp, could be something so simple, fingers crossed for you. Irene x
Thanks a ton izb1 for sharing what u have gone through. I will ask my doctor what u have suggested. Thanks again.
I had something similar in my left lower rib cage and got it checked out by an osteopath who showed me how to massage and exercise to relieve it. Well worth the fee for the reassurance.
