Hi does anyone on the transplant list have diabetes? Or post transplant with diabetes before transplant? My husband is waiting on an assessment appointment but today found out that he may have diabetes, really worried that this may mean he in not suitable for transplant.

I hope for you both it's not a problem. Praying for him now.
Hi Thomac .
What a dreadful worry for you both. I think patients with diabetes can still undergo transplant, the only drawback being there maybe more complications post surgery. I would go to the assessment with an open mind. I really hope for the best outcome for your husband.
Sending you both warm wishes,
Cas xx 🌹
i has diabetes befor mine it does not make any differance at all they say if you aint got it before transplant you have a good chance you will have it after so dont fret about it they are quite used to it and will give him the drugs he needs to cope ps mine never moved much above 8 so dont worrey all will be fine
Thank you that’s really reassuring. I hope you ate keeping well?

Hi, good to hear that your husband has made it on the list. He must discuss his problems with either his lung specialist or at least the GP. I unfortunately am too old to be considered for this so turned to stem cell treatments bu have so found that nobody treats anyone with a cancer, not that diabetes is a cancer but to be safe get him to check it out rather than get too far with the transplant to be turned down.

I think Thomac 's husband is headed for an assessment for a transplant. 😊 I hope it goes well. xx
