Need a Bronchiectasis Lung Hug

Hello to everyone who has been poorly and or looking for information. I’m in need of cyber cheeriness. After two weeks of Meropenam by IV and my blood levels have increased with infection and now I’m on another round of 1-2 weeks of IV Tazobactam and a new one Azactum. Has anyone had any side effects from the latter? As my sciatica is on the march.

Oh Annie you poor love on the IV roundabout yet again. Azactum contains Astreonam which I have had as IVs twice. Once at home and once in 5*. The first time it worked very well for pseudo in my lungs and FEV went up 10%. These second time in hospital latterly my liver count was very raised and my con reduced the 14 days to 10 but count went down a bit so we did 12 days. It was good in lung terms and liver count came down eventually. We didn’t do a start/finish FEV as it was during lockdown.

I hope both these drugs are beneficial for you and give you a much needed break. Hope the aspergillous is behaving.

Love and hugs

Cx 💐💕

I don’t ‘think’ it was the drugs in general, my bloods are currently high with anaemia. (Found out after calling for advice) The pains were excruciating….I don’t know how I sat in the car going home maybe that’s why it’s all exhausting. D&V started after second lot of IVs.

Can’t understand why it wasn’t in at the start. Do you mean staying in for this course or staying until they can fit a port.

Hello Annie- so sorry to hear you’re not feeling well. I had the IV Meropenem in the Autumn but not the others. I certainly felt really fatigued while I was having it but feeling back to normal now. I hope the antibiotics work for you and that your sciatica calms down quickly. Sending good wishes and hugs 🤗 🤗 ❤️💐xx

Thank you to everyone for such wonderful Internet hugs 💓well it’s been a rough few days experiencing the side effects. So, it’s been stopped until I return next week. Curious now as I’ve experienced excruciatingly awful sciatica pains as well (now not so bad and decreasing) and I’ve been diagnosed with anaemia. Bit random?!

Hello Annie. Sorry I'm a little late in sending my virtual hugs but wanted to say I'm thinking of you and hope you are soon on the mend. It sounds as though you have had a pretty rough ride recently and a real shame the AB's had to be stopped. Let's hope things will go your way next week when you return. Take care, sending more hugs 🤗❤️🤗 xxx
