Morning all. Yesterday afternoon I had my first ever full lung function tests, immediately followed by consultation with my respiratory doctor. My experience was somewhat spoilt by having to re-take some of the testing because of faulty equipment. I had been quite apprehensive anyway due to my experiences and diagnosis earlier this year. The staff were A1, and communicated their requirements of me politely, effectively albeit that they were not prepared to furnish me with the results - stating that they would be sent on to my GP. On discovering that I should have had all normal obs, blood pressure etc., prior to the tests, I was requested to have these following - not ideal, as when I asked what my BP was reading, I was informed that it was, 'a bit on the high side,' whereupon it was retaken and I was informed that it was, 'a bit better.' Surprise, surprise. So, on to my review. Bottom Line: 2/3 Lung capacity. Need for blue inhaler AND referred back to oxygen nurse for ambulatory oxygen. Along with my AAA on the way up - not one of my better days, I'm afraid. Thanks for listening/reading!

At least it’s over now try to relax and enjoy the football! It’s very personal going through all these tests but remember it’s for our own good.Take care.
You are entitled to be copied in with results sent to your GP, BUT you have to ask at the hospital reception. That way you know at the same time as the GP and have your own personal copy.
