She is keeping me up with our gardening endeavour! She sent me 6 photos. The hortensias look nice..with that touch of purple..
Well Saturday is market day in Hyรจres, last week I filled up a bag of fresh fruit and vegs for 5โฌ40 courgettes, fennels, new potatoes, then another 5โฌ for raspberries, strawberries and nectarines.
Itโs for Mum really, sheโd rather pull things out of her freezer and pop them in the microwave when she is alone I know but when we are together she eats.
They are announcing a heatwave in the 30s, reminding elderly people to sip all day etc and telling us about the 20,000 deaths we had last year!
Honestly..so gardens and flowers, water and showers ๐๐ธ๐
Lovely picture Fran. Our garden is a blaze of colour but our water butts are empty and using the hose with a meter water is expensive, so at the moment it is very bedraggled. Not had any rain for weeks and being next to the north sea the wind is always blowing. Yesterday it was only 16 here inland it was 28. It makes breathing for me much better guess you can't have it all. But damn it I would love to get rid of t his sweater. Enjoy your weekend. Jane๐ธ๐๐น
Yes the northern sea wind keeps rain and germs at bay ๐
Here down Mumโs in the south of France it will definitely be a hot day. I was at the market at 8 am and already found it stifling!
Still I can go to the local swimming pool and practice my breathing exercises in the sunshine. Water was lovely at 5pm yesterday. Canโt have it all๐
I got yellow courgettes, tiny new potatoes, bananas and peaches today.
Yes she had a bad night, cramps in the legs. I said make sure you sip water throughout the day.
It is supposed to climb up to 38 so they said at the kiosk. They tend to exaggerate around here ๐ it attracts the tourists I suppose. The problem with this town is itโs all uphill so Mum canโt go anywhere anymore.
Hi Fran, Buenas Dia Carino y su Mama tambien. Beautiful Flowers so kind of Beau to think of us all. Your Temp is much higher than here in UK wer'e about 30, and in Spain much Higher like south of France. Your mum is so lucky to have you there caring for her. People tend to say to me "You can cope with this heat after living in Spain all those years" Errm NO, I say, I had air conditioning on throughout the summer Months, For me it was a Way of Life, which I miss a thousand fold. Yes, My Flowers are so deep in Colour and I enjoy every day looking at them, We have started the Wild garden in a Bottom Corner of the Garden, hoping the Poppies come back again. Keep yourself and your Mum Cool and well. Hasta Pronto, Abrazos y Besitos. XXXX
What a pretty picture Fran than you. And I can just imagine the Market and the fresh fruits and vegetables...lovely ๐. Our veggie garden is doing beautifully...I am regularly sending my daughters like giant songbirds to pick and eat all the strawberries and tayberries straight from the plants lol...they love it. I am hoping to be out a little inour garden today maybe...just for a sit...no digging I promise!! I feel a little stronger.
No hosepipe ban for you then??!! We have been warned no baths, No washing the car, no wasting water...amazing given we had 3 months of rain not so long ago๐. Theyhhavent the facilities to store it i suppose.
Lots of love, look after yourself and your mum...enjoy the weather xxx
Such a lovely story of your daughters and songbirds in your garden my dear Anne ๐ป๐ง๐๐ฆ๐๐๐ฆ
No, we have had a year of rain and floods and natural catastrophes so plenty of water to go round! Scaremongers I tell you ๐
If you wish to dig my dear Anne please do so it means you are feeling better ๐
I never have a bath and I donโt own a car, I am an old reformed hippy looking out for the planet ๐ ๐eating organic food and living on herbal teas and essential oils! Well I have a certain weakness for George Clooney Nespresso and other goodies..โบ๏ธsuch as football matches!! Allez les Bleus!!๐
Allez les bleus bien sur!!! Not long now...๐๐โฝ๐๐
Good for you looking out for the planet. I only bath my babies as they are frightened of the shower ha ha...but they all climb in together old fashioned style so that's kinder on the planet I think!
Yes to good coffee and George Clooney...mm...๐โค
Morning Fran, please tell Bea " Thank you very much ". I find flowers so soothing whether in the flesh or pictured. I hope you and your mum have a nice day. I'm still hiding indoors as I've never liked the heat. I was pregnant with my first baby all through the summer months of my first year in Malta ( husband Royal Navy) so I hadn't got acclimatised. The following two years were okay when only idiots went out in the heat of the day Sheila xx
Thank you, thank you, Fran and Bea โค๏ธ๐ I love flowers and pictures of flowers too. ๐ธ๐บ๐ธ๐ป๐ธ๐น
Weโve got lots in pots here and the watering is onerous in this heat. Weโre also on a water meter for the first time, so might live to regret so many pots.....but moving from a big garden was hard in some ways. Losing hedge cutting on four long sides was easy though! And hours of lawn cutting! But my friends the flowers, I miss!
Have a good day, Fran, somewhere cool, and do hope you and your Mum enjoy the lovely fresh fruits and veg from your early market visit. ๐น
Gosh for one moment i thought you had bought 40 courgettes but i can now see that would be the cents after the Euro.i hope you have saved some money for a small wager on your beloved countrymen disposing of the noisy neighbours in Argentina but perhaps given our son George was born there i should be neutral today.
Hi Fran and Bea, lovely photo. Our hydrangea hasn't flowered yet. Another hot day here again. Enjoy your weekend. Majt

Thank you Majt ๐ Where is the rest of my post gone?? I didnโt even know the name of that purple flower. It is lovely.
Bea says it has been hot. We are getting the pure cool dyson for the flat for when I come back. They will have put in the new windows and I canโt stand dust and chemicals.
What a beautiful summery photo. My hydrangea is quite out yet. We also have a clematis absolutely covered with buds so we should have a wonderful display soo. Please thank Bea for taking the photo. I do look forward to seeing them.
Oh many thanks ! ..when it gets too bad, shall I ask you to send me some H2O......in the post!!?? Seriously, according to the news,we had a "dry-ish" year,so at some point, there may well be some problems.!
