Blood pressure

I been doctors twice in last 4 weeks and the first blood test was 187/96 then went again and it read 149/93 why is that so high

There can be many reasons for high blood pressure and to get a true picture a series of readings need to be taken over a period of time. The list of reasons for high blood pressure is very long and you should not worry over just one reading. My father had white coat syndrome and his blood pressure would rocket up if a Doctor went anywhere near him. I took his blood pressure was aways normal when taken by me at home but would go up when he went to hospital. To get a true picture your GP my give you a machine at home to monitor it over a 24 hour period. But the important thing is not to worry about a one off high reading.
