Hi thank you

I was a fitness instructor running fitness studio untill 4 months ago iv always taken care of my self and ate healthy foods

Two months befor this problem I felt poorly I had a very bad cough, not like any other I have ever had, suddenly my body was craving a lot of carbs chocolate and rubbish foods , I found myself dashing from class to class missing meals and just feeling ill.

Then one night at 2.00 in the morning I was woken suddenly I sat up and I couldn’t breath in.....at all, had no air going in, I ran out panicking it got worse and worse it was the most terrifying experience iv ever had, just no air, my husband rushed me to hospital, by the time I had got there it had gone, no doctor or no one knew what it was, and send me home,

Two days later it happened again this time it was worse again I was taken to hospital, again no one knew,

My son googled my symptoms and got videos up and it was laryngospasam, when my son told the doctor in hospital, he then said “ o yes it is” I

So I would like to know if anyone els has had this and I will share how I try to deal with it

No one cares in the country so I wanted to arrange meetings and get together to help and sit people

My son did hours and hours of research, when it happens it’s the most terrifying feeling a person could have,

But you have to hold your breath calmly fir 5 seconds then slowly breath out NIT in through a straw hold your breath for a few more seconds then breath through your nose slowly

It’s very difficult

This used to happen to me years ago where I'd run outside because there was air out there never knew it had a name but I always panicked because i couldn't remember if I should breath in or out but by then it passed hasn't happened in a couple years now so i really don't know except i would just stop breathing and it wasn't any type of sleeping issue it would just happen

I have this and following lits of tests and a nasendoscopy I was diagnosed with vcd (vocal chord dysfunction) and taught breathing exercises to try to control attacks. It is as you said very scary I black out when I have a bad attack for about 90 secs and feel pretty rough afterwards. Strong smells, coughimg & enviromental factors sll trigger mine. If you eant to know more pm me.

Hi it’s not nice is it where are you from I’m trying to get people together to meet and firm friendships so we can support each other.

I m on edge all the time that it’s going to happen when I’m out.

Doctors put me on acid reflux tables

What are you on

in reply to Patsylady1959

Im in the midlands. What about you? There are no meds for it but acid reflux can be a trigger & im on gaviscon. I also have severe tracheobroncomalucia. Tad worried today as got to have a bronchoscopy later and know it is going to trigger off my vcd badly!!

Hi iv not heard of that one I’ll research it,

I’m in Telford so your not far,

Not many doctors know about it, my son spent hours of his time doing research,

Mine was very bad to start with, as you know they are terrifying and can change your life, also mentally,

We found this book

Alkaline plant based diet ( it’s not a diet) although you do loose weight because it’s healthy eating.

I have gone vegetarian and as much organic as I can afford

Also if a person takes antacids I take lansoprazole, when I feel it coming , I don’t stay on them I try to do two weeks then rest the body for it to restore the acid.

the body dosent obsorb magnesium, if you have no magnesium this can trigger laryogospasum.

So I take magnesium bisglycinate which by passes the tummy and gets into your system, I get this from a company called ( bulk powers)

Also take ( digestive enzymes) which keep your good bacteria in a balance and helps your body to store the vitamins

So far so good, if it hadn’t been for my sons careful research I would be a mess.

Cut out dairy and most of all MILK.

Watch a programme called ( what the Health) either on Netflix or YouTube

O bless it’s awfull isn’t it I miss teaching, ivyed to tease zumba, zumba strong and pilates. It’s a big emotional roller coaster

So what was the confirmation from your tests,

Do you still have laryogospasums,

Yes I have the bulk powered. Magnesium, because antacid don’t let your body absorb it,

maybe we can organise meetings and outings, because lots of people who have these problems, are scared to go out 😳😳😳
