Struggling again. On 8th chesty cold/virus since Covid. No resilience to anything. Four chest infections. Saw respiratory doctor who said see you in 6months time. On ever growing list for pulmonary rehab. Breathless, congested, tired. Tell me your stories. What helps you.

Anybody else having breathing problems 15months after Covid?
I think you just have to be patient while your body recovers. It seems to take an age unfortunately. Be gentle with yourself; accept any pampering that's on offer and try to have little treats as often as possible. Chocolate is medicinal in these circumstances. When you feel up do it, do a little gentle exercising. There are various suggestions for chair based exercises on the web. I found my AeroBika very helpful when I was coughing up a lot of sputum. Have you got such a device? If not talk to your GP about it. Hope some more people will come up with suggestions soon. Wishing you the best of luck.
I think Alberta56 is right, I haven’t had it but hear long covid can be terrible & no doubt if you had it badly it can affect your immune system. If you’re still getting as many infections in 6months ask for referral to an immunologist. Meanwhile try & build it with healthy diet, lots of sleep but exercise too & fun things. Look into immune building supplements. Avoid infections by mask wearing, hand washing etc.
You don’t say if you had an existing lung condition? I have 3, plus antibody deficiency, so those symptoms are normal for me. I do all the above, plus breathing exercises daily to relieve the congestion which attracts bacteria. I’m sure you’ll get better, everyone seems to eventually 😊
I take supplements to boost my immune system and general health. I take Super Turmeric, Baoab,Chlorella and Spirula. Taken daily. I get mine from Organic Burst as no additives. xxSheila 👍💕⚘
Hi Sheila, interested to know how you are getting on with your new inhailer ,or is it to soon to tell ,also wondering why you were change on to new one,as I'm sure there is a better one out there for me
I gave gone back to my old medication Alice. I didnt have problems just COPD team wanted me to try the new one which replaced my Sirdupla and Spiriva . It did not agree with me so after 3 days went back on old medication. Feeling great now

Do try diaphragm singing. If you can't get to a local singing for lung health group, you can find videos on You Tube. It will boost your mood as well as strengthen your breathing muscles, and help you to cough up any gunk at the bottom of your lungs.
To find out how to breathe using your diaphragm if you are not sure, lie on your back and place a book on your stomach. Try to make the book move up and down solely by breathing in and out. (When you've found out, your next challenge may well be getting up again .)
I've been practising my diaphragm breathing along with all sorts of exercises but have not tried singing. I have asked but no special groups locally. Will have a look at YouTube and wait til other half is out!! Taking NAC again and hoping it will help. Many thanks.
If you want to look at some singing group videos I posted during lockdown, visit youtube.com/channel/UCGvJ9E...
