I seem to have overreacted…..

From what you all tell me (and heartened I am by being put right and encouraged by so many) the notice I saw is automatic if a member hasn’t posted for a while.

It’s no excuse but I’m a tiny (!!!) bit stressed and exhausted just now. When I, fingers crossed, get myself scraped off the ceiling I’ll be back with tales to tell. Don’t want to jinx anything and I will be careful what I write in future.

Thanks everyone.

thatthat's good, I think many of us would feel it wwould be the last straw. Life can be so tough at times that its easy to make mistakes and some people take offence where none is meant. Big hug to you - and I'll be in Sassy's gang ×× P

I think you too would be annoyed if you were told of having many incarnations on here too peege!

Having said that I accepted the explanation that it wasn't meant like that. So as far as I'm concerned that is the end of the matter.

There is a big problem when these systems are set up by technical employees . They have no concept that the members of the forum that they are designing for are vulnerable and join the forum for mutual support, not to be faced with an authoratitive notice which makes them feel accused and criticised. Many of us have ptsd, depression and anxiety, all of which can be triggered by this thoughtless imposition of authority. Let's see what I get now.

You are quite right Littlepom, there isn’t much thought on how these things come across when being programmed in by the technical boffs. I too, have received the reminder of the site rules message at times when about to make a post. I had been a member for a while the first time it popped up and I was in a bit of a dodgy place mentally and remember feeling very aggrieved that I needed reminding and couldn’t work out what I’d posted previously that required such a message. I eventually realised it was just a generic thing that popped up when I hadn’t posted in a while.

Just to say pleased you're going to stay with us. I hope the sources of your stress go away very soon. xxx

Being stressed and exhausted certainly IS an excuse for any over-sensitivity, though you don’t need one because imho you’ve been entirely reasonable all along! So glad you’re staying, but don’t be TOO careful. Apart from reading before posting, I can’t be worrying about every word I write. It would become very stagnant here if we all did that x

i don’t post very often, but i read posts nearly every day, and i take comfort knowing there are these friends out there who understand how we feel and there’s always someone who will reply with reassurance.
