Doctors not giving options

I started with a new internist. They don't examine u anymore just talk. I told I have a hiatal hernia n my GI said he wouldn't operate n this new doctor said if your hernia stragulates my stomach I'll die !!how can a doctor not offer options ,5 years ago a knee surgeon I went to many yrs ago . did inject cortisone did nothing I need a knee replacement n I would die. My neighbor is 84 lives in Spain n Fla she had a knee replacement with an epidural. I switched doctors to a very well respected doctor for knees. He did more injection around my knee than other doctor . I was pain free for months. He has done more injections . but I'm better.the other doctor said if I wasn't dead i would be in a wheelchair in 3 yrs. Well I'm not. And 7 yrs ago I had a hiatal hernia n it was an 8 he surgery . so I spoke to young doctor in my building n he said it's not a death sentence . they do a block n epidural. My O2 levels have been good. I can't find a doctor who offers hope n options. You have to be your own doctor n never give up. Imagine saying to someone I will die. if I didn't need prescriptions I wouldn't go to a doctor.it's just when the hernia pops n I can't put it back myself I go to ER. And I've been there several times..and they consider it emergency surgery. A catch 22.I give up but glad I wake up . bless u all

Bless you too Pinky and I’m very glad your still here. What do Doctors know? They should walk in your shoes for a week or so.

Hernias are a nuisance and I hope you get the help you need. I’ve had a hiatus hernia for years but nothing like as bad as yours.

Thank you for sharing .I've been very careful not to lift anything heavy anymore.lol try to be independent. But when it pops out to the point where I can't push it in I go to the ER. I have survived thru so much so I in happy that im still alive! I fall a lot due to vertigo n thank God I haven't broken anything .just get bruised .bless u

Thank. You I felt it was disgraceful that a new doctor who never met me till my appt had nerve to just come out with you'll die . I find that rude n heartless . I agree I have done my homework n know there are options than getting a tube down your throat with copd. .

Someone mentioned about a lung cleanse. Support to help alot. Lots of things doctors don't tell u because there is no money in it. And also the oxygen hyperbaric chambers . helps cancer n people with lung disease. 2 hrs in it n u are good for 24 hrs. This was told to me from my pharmacist.any one know mo about this? Thank u Pinky
