Hello, i think i’ve asked this question before. I have bought an air purifier, only a small one, and i’m wondering if they actually do help? ( i have copd). Do they give off ozone? Thats not good for our breathing i believe. This says it is a hepa filter so i’m hoping it is safe. I also have a small ioniser, not sure if i should be using that? I get confused, but trying to make life easy.

For ultimate protection, residential air purification systems (portable or HVAC) should contain several of the following:
A pre-filter for removing large particles
UV light exposure long enough to eliminate mold and mildew
A membrane filter or a micro-filtration unit to capture pollutants down to .01 microns
Does NOT emit ozone which can further restrict lung capacity

Less use of fabrics which collect dust is equally important, carpets harbour dust which is then kicked up when walked on.
Thank you for your helpful reply and link.
As Stone has said ozone is a not a good thing for us, ozone is emitted from ionisers. I run 2 HEPA filters 24/7 with switchable ionisers that are turned off. Yes they do work and I clean the filters twice a week and have to replace the filters every 3 months, but I do keep a pair of parrots.
Thank you for your reply. I have now switched off my ioniser. I just have the air purifier on now.
