Hi, recently released an air conditioner is essential for me, been really struggling to breathe in this heat. I live in a rented flat which ios over 2 floors. I'm thinking of getting one for the small (approx 3m x 2m) bedroom first and see how it goes. Any recommendations, please, and could I get one that also purifies?

I have a Dyson pure cool in the bedroom and a Dyson hot and cold in the living room. The only drawback is they are so very expensive. However, I like the fact that they read the air quality and give the room temperature. They oscillate or you can have them still.

The best feature, for me, is the auto function. Bang it on auto and as soon as it senses something it increases it’s speed.

There is a sleep function on both ( lower noise) and a timer in sleep mode on the pure cool one.

I should mention that when all readings are in the green you can barely hear it.

Hi, if you tap in air purifier into the search box on the top right hand page some previous replies will come up.

I invested in a Dyson cool fan and purifier a few years ago , but does it make a difference to my breathing …I don’t really know .

I can read the air quality, temp, humidity on my linked I pad.

A drawback is they are really expensive , need a new filter every year, about £50 to £ 60 .

I have a large normal fan downstairs that blows cool air ….it’s stronger than the Dyson fan ….but no air purifier attached.

I also use a small hand held battery fan , just to blow cool air on to my face ….that’s useful. Check out the BLF website about hand fans .

Take care.

Hi I purchased a good home from b and q air conditioner mobile one and it works well bit noisy though when it ramps up a gear. Upstairs we have a PIV unit fitted which recycled the air and filters it from outside taking out the particles which keeps the house mould free and cool.

Hi

I have a Dyson air purifier like Knitter says, I think it does help but they are expensive and not all of them cool the air (mine doesn't). So I bought a Challenge air cooler from Argos, it is £100 but the water compartment puts moisture into the air and helps my breathing, it's been a godsend in this hot weather and is a lot cheaper than air conditioning.
