I was PX some new inhalers yesterday, I have been treated for a chest infection since before Christmas I have had 3 different Antibiotics, steroids, nebulisers and carbocisteine, and was beginning to feel I was never going to get back to my usual self I have copd and apart from the odd chest infection which has always been very responsive to steroids and antibiotics this is the worst I have felt been unable to get my breath has been very frightening Afrer 4 weeks I started to feel some improvement and then a week later I became very breathless again and had to make an appointment at my GP practice I could only get to see the nurse practitioner and she reviewed my inhalers and then explained the one I was on was no good for copd and has PX me Spiriva once daily and Fostair 2 puffs twice a day, Today I can breath better and I’m hoping that I can finally get out and do a little bit more as the days go on I cannot believe what a difference these inhalers have done in 2 days

Morning

Almost identical stay in hospital over Christmas and new year. 3 types antibiotics.

Been home trying to recover. Lost a lot of weight. Struggling to eat. Improving at Last however, respiratory nurse came to visit and took a blood sample - called me later in day and told me I still had an infection. Now back on antibiotics. Also changed my inhalers. Took me off my usual Seretide and Spiriva now on new inhaler Anoro Elippta one puff in 24 hours. In the past have been wary of changing as I have had negative side effects with some. So far so good with Anoro. Early days yet.

You get well soon. Warm wishes.

Hi Grayann, think this year has seen a new strain of the cold , alot of people I talk to have said that they have had this for over 6 weeks and have been left with a terrible cough, it is the worst cold I have suffered thats for sure and takes some getting over. So glad you have been given the correct inhalers and hope you get better soon. Irene x

Not good to say but was worried more, thinking I was the only one suffering so bad for so long! Can’t seem to shift the left over cough and reduced breathing!
