If you feel you have sinus then it could absolutely be that as the mucus drips into the lungs and causes cough. That's partly my problem. I would suggest an ENT specialist who can have a good look into the sinus area maybe an MRI of that area and see what's happening there then maybe try some sprays and/or drops. A nasal rinse might assist, you can buy them in chemists, NeilMed is a good one, ask your pharmacist.
Hi Julie
A tight chest is caused by restricted airways..there can be many reasons for that, from allergies to lung inflammation, infections or other medical problems..
Have you had an xray? A CT scan would give a clear view of any potential problems but I would start from eliminating allergens around your bedroom if you are at all allergic in any way like suffer from hay fever for example.
Sleeping propped up may help, having a little eucalyptus or other essential oils around the room if you are tolerant and responsive..meditation also to unwind in the morning before getting up with your to do list etc..
i was told to stop them all as my breathing tests showed no problems with lungs. I was told this by dr omra pirzada at sheffield northern general hospital.
yes he was fully aware I gave him the community matron care plan and he read it and said you do not need inhalers you do not have a wheeze and your breathing tests are normal adult range. waiting for his write up to be sent to GP.
