Something's wanting.

When saying would you like me

To do this thing for you?

You don't expect the answer.

"You can if you want to."

That seems to be the answer

That you will get these days.

What happened to "yes please, no thank you"

Replaced by modern ways?

I might well not want to

But I'd do it just the same.

Doing them a favour,

To use it's proper name.

Now they've gone and made it look

As though the favour is on me.

So now I say "Don't want to"

And turn around an flee.

No more then the churlish recipient of favour deserved Don. People can be so casual these days with good old-fashioned courtesy and politeness. Make them come begging for the favour with their tails between their legs :)

I should probably just mind my own business and let them get on with it. 😛

That's just a cop out. Anybody ( especially younger people) who have an older person prepared to help them out, should consider themselves lucky.

Whatever! If I was to have a tombstone made when I die, which I won't, I would just like one word writ upon it. "Whatever."

We can arrange that for you :)

in reply toBilliejean_2

I meant I won’t have a tombstone made not that I won’t die. Just so you don’t arrange the wrong thing. 😱

Master Po remember the quotes of the Dalai Lama

14th Dalai Lama/Quotes

Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them.

Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.

Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck.

Now turn that anger into goodness and light............................grasshopper and cat friend xxlol

Cobblers! I'm fed up with holding the door open for some elderly person then be still standing there whilst a stream of kids rush through.

Not just kids Don, my younger son was just six when he complained about old people always grumbling about children being bad mannered after he'd held open a door into Woolworth's while a steady stream of elderly customers passed in and out, without a word. He's now 52, and I'm proud to say he still holds doors open - for all ages.

He sounds a good lad, Magpuss. I like to think that my only son would have done the same, but he died 5 years ago aged just 55, 2 years after his Mum. It's no wonder I'm so grumpy. :-(

Sorry to hear that, Don - you must miss them both. Hope you have many happy memories. Bad manners and lack if consideration make me grumpy too - it's not much to ask, is it - and it costs nowt.

Don, you never sound a bit grumpy to me . More tongue in cheek. Your posts brighten my day and I thank you for them. Take care, Judith xx

Thank you Judith, what a nice thing to say.
