No more then the churlish recipient of favour deserved Don. People can be so casual these days with good old-fashioned courtesy and politeness. Make them come begging for the favour with their tails between their legs
Not just kids Don, my younger son was just six when he complained about old people always grumbling about children being bad mannered after he'd held open a door into Woolworth's while a steady stream of elderly customers passed in and out, without a word. He's now 52, and I'm proud to say he still holds doors open - for all ages.
He sounds a good lad, Magpuss. I like to think that my only son would have done the same, but he died 5 years ago aged just 55, 2 years after his Mum. It's no wonder I'm so grumpy.
Sorry to hear that, Don - you must miss them both. Hope you have many happy memories. Bad manners and lack if consideration make me grumpy too - it's not much to ask, is it - and it costs nowt.
