Hello I've been struggling for a while having breathing difficulties with a horrible chest which I couldn't do a sample.
The last time I attended hospital the consultants wanted me to send a sample in to the hospital as I showed pseudo and had been on ciprofloxacin. She wanted iv treatment On tuesday i had a telephone consultation with Dr asked what other symptoms I had my feet and legs are swelling a lot. She said she thought it was because It put putting a strain my heart. She wanted blood test. Has anyone with bronchectasis had this where it is affecting the heart. and could they treat it. At the moment I'm on ciprofloxacin and steroids. Thanking you
My elderly mum's bronch means she often breathes heavily at night and her heart rate goes up to compensate for low sats so I assume the heart works hard. To help, I make sure she takes her carbocysteine and does Active cycle of breathing before she goes to bed. Plus I do Active cycle of breathing usually once a night and change her position from one side to the other.
I saw in the ICU that they have people on their front to help breathing, don't know if that helps with bronch but putting her on her side almost immediately makes her cough.
Worth a try? (but check with your medical provider as my experience is just personal to my mum.)
having bloods done tomorrow so I'll see what happens there I'm on strong antibiotics and steroids. I got a bit worried when she mentioned my heart. Take good care to your mum.
Good luck tomorrow. Fortunately you're being seen quickly. I think the worry is sometimes worse than the issues, hopefully it's something that will either go away with rest or just needs a little pill! All the best.
Hello, I have been prescribed ciprofloxacin when psuedo had been diagnosed, it works very well for me, both i/v and orally, I have also had swollen ankles which were relieved by diuretics. I do however, have a heart condition so am on Sotolol and Warfarin( to prevent clots). The major thing I have noticed is that during the lockdown I have never felt so well, no chest infections since Jan, very happy with that. I live in Spain so not really any bronch specialist here, use yours well, keep telling them how you are and what you feel you need to help.
Good Luck xx
Thank you so much for your kind reply I've felt really poorly and I'm very lucky I've had loads of urgent blood test done and a doctor has just been . They are doing urgent blood test and a fast track appointment for a heart failure consultant. and there is other thing going on. Take good care.🌈😊
