Ok, I am a bit confused about your site so please help me along. I found this site when I started to have what I thought was a flu. It then seemed to get worse. My sinuses feel clear and my throat is not sore. I do have a severe cough. The noises I make keep me from getting sleep. My lungs feel like they are on fire when I cough. I have to cough evey 30 seconds or so. I have not found anyway to stop it. Now my ribs feel as if I broke them
I'm miserable. What is this?? Thank you for any assistance.

I live in Massachusetts and think that you need to visit a Pulmonologist to diagnose what appears to be a lung disease of which there are over 200. Cough is just one of the many symptoms that can be associated with several diseases. I have Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) and one of my symptoms pre my left lung transplant 20 months ago was a constant non-productive cough. IPF is a restrictive disease where it is difficult to get enough Oxygen in the lungs due to scarring which makes the lungs lose elasticity. Do you or has anyone checked your Oxygen saturation levels. There are other diseases that are obstructive, like COPD, where it is difficult to remove CO2 from the lungs upon exhalation. There is also Emphysema, etc. I was formally diagnosed in 2010, after many years of mis-diagnoses, via a Chest x-ray, High Resolution Computer Tomography (HRCT) scan, and a lung biopsy at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, MA Visit the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation website to locate a Pulmonologist that is knowledgeable. Enter your state and check out the list. Good luck
